The Petrified Wastes

A dead world turned to stone and ash.

Craft the key, build the portal with Petrified Archstone, light it, and step into a dead, ash dimension. Grey forests, wind-carved ash dunes. Somewhere in the stone, there is a living crystal. 

The Dimension

Travel to The Petrified Wastes through a portal built from Petrified Archstone and activated with the Crystalbound Key. Everything you need to make the key comes from the Overworld, so you can start the journey in your first adventure.

Biomes

– Petrified Plains are open, ashen flatlands.

– Petrified Forest has dense Petrified Trees all around.

– Cinder Dunes are windswept hills of loose Ash Sand that pile up and slide like real sand.

Dangers

The water here is not safe. Swimming in it makes you sick, and the nausea lingers for a few seconds after you climb out.

Living Crystal

The only living resource in the Wastes.

Living Crystal Ore drops a crystal.

Mine it, and craft it into tools that fix themselves.

Self-Reparing Tools

Living Crystal tools slowly mend their own damage while they are in your inventory. You don’t need an anvil, just patience.

Plants

The dead world still has plants, all with their own look:

– Ashen Rose
– Petrified Bramble
– Cinder Tuft
– Short Grass and Tall Grass
– Petrified Sapling, which you can plant to grow your own Petrified Tree.

Exploration

Structures are scattered across almost every biome, with chests full of loot waiting to be found. Explore far enough and you’ll see a few structures.

Compatibility 

Mod loader: NeoForge, Fabric, Forge
Works in singleplayer and on servers. To play it on server, install it on the server and on the client too.
