The Four Houses: A Harry Potter Mod

Cast spells, fly on brooms, brew potions and hunt legendary relics in a wizarding school adventure for Fabric.

Beta 1.0.0-beta.1. This is the first public test version. There is no survival progression yet: most items come from the creative tab (Wizard) or /give. Expect bugs. I'm open to your comments, ideas and suggestions to keep developing the mod: tell me what you would like to see next.

Features

• Wands and spells. Five wands and nine spells: Avada Kedavra, Expelliarmus, Desmaius, Crucio, Protego, Petrificus Totalus, Sectumsempra, Imperio and Patronus. Hold Z to open the spell wheel and pick one, then right click to cast it.
• Flying brooms. Shooting Star, Nimbus 2000, Nimbus 2001 and Firebolt.
• Sorting Hat. It asks you questions and sorts you into one of the four houses. Operators can configure it with the Hogwarts Badge. Voice in English and Spanish.
• Cauldron and potions. Fill the cauldron, light it, add the ingredients and stir in the right direction and rhythm to brew 10 potions, two of them with their own effects.
• Legendary relics. The Sword of Godric Gryffindor, the Cup of Helga Hufflepuff (you can place it), Salazar Slytherin’s Locket and Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem (both wearable).
• Wizarding currency. Galleons, sickles and knuts.
• Characters and shops. Operators can create creatures with the Creator’s Staff: friendly characters with dialogues, quests and shops, or hostile ones.
• Duels and a quest log (J).
• Available in English and Spanish.

Requirements

• Minecraft 26.3, Java 25 and Fabric Loader 0.20.1 or newer.
• Fabric API and GeckoLib.

On a server, install the mod and the two libraries on the server and on every client.

How to get things

Open the Wizard creative tab, or use /give @s four_houses:<item>. Learn every spell with /magic spell learn <player> all. The cauldron has a crafting recipe: iron ingots and logs.

Known issues

• No survival progression yet.
• The Sorting Hat does nothing until an operator configures it.
• Not tested with many players at the same time.
