TFMG Casting Fluid Fix

A focused bugfix addon for Create: The Factory Must Grow (TFMG). Install it alongside the original mod when your setup encounters the issue described below.

The problem

The casting basin waits for a full tank and then empties the entire buffer. A recipe that needs a small amount can waste the remaining fluid.

Why it happens

The original processing path uses tank fullness as its starting condition and clears the tank instead of draining the recipe’s required amount.

Scope of the fix

Starts when the matching recipe has enough fluid and drains only that recipe’s amount.
Keeps the remainder and protects occupied outputs and stale progress.
Retains the original 144 mB capacity. Recipes requiring more than that still need a separate capacity change, which this addon does not provide.

Recipe definitions, processing durations, heat requirements, fuel efficiency and tank capacities keep their original values. No Steam & Steel progression or balance changes are included.

Compatibility

Compatibility update 1.0.2 fixes an addon initialization failure caused by an unsupported raw-bytecode request to the NeoForge/ModLauncher Mixin provider. It uses supported bytecode inspection and checks optional Mixin contracts before applying the fix. An unreadable or incompatible target skips the affected fix with an SS_COMPAT_SKIP diagnostic. The repair has local native-provider and actual Mixin-application checks; full standalone game startup, server joining and gameplay remain unverified.

This release targets the original TFMG 1.2.0 implementation. Later versions and Community Edition are not claimed compatible. Install the addon with the required mods; for multiplayer, use matching versions on server and clients.

From Steam & Steel

The fix was developed while maintaining Steam & Steel SMP, our custom Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge server modpack using Create and TFMG. This addon is independent of that modpack and does not require SteamSteelCore.

Release / Feedback

These fixes grew out of problems encountered and tested by players on our Steam & Steel SMP server, within its specific modpack. Compatibility with other modpacks still needs feedback.

If you encounter a crash, an error or unexpected behaviour, please leave a comment with your Minecraft, NeoForge, Create, TFMG and addon versions, plus steps to reproduce the problem. We will investigate reported bugs and work on fixes.

The standalone addon has local regression and Mixin-application checks. The server experience described above is the origin of the fix, rather than a claim that every standalone configuration has been tested.
