Superpowers By Skipz brings powers inspired by DC, Marvel, Invincible and My Hero Academia into Minecraft. Open portals, stop arrows in mid-air, possess another player, grow weapons from your body or challenge Trigon in his own dimension. Built around Palladium, each character has a distinct playstyle and a skill tree to develop as you play.

Spend experience levels to unlock abilities and upgrades. Explore for powerful equipment, or collect fragments and attempt a ritual awakening to discover which power answers.

Awaken your power

Intrinsic powers are now obtained through an exploration and ritual system. Find faultstones on open ground in the overworld, marked by floating amethyst shards and coloured light. Sneak-right-click a vanilla compass to search for a nearby unspent faultstone. Wake one, survive its echoes and collect its splinters.

Craft an Awakening Focus, place it on chiseled stone bricks and surround it with four amethyst blocks, two blocks away in each cardinal direction. Offer three matching splinters, survive three increasingly populated waves and dodge the closing pulse warnings. Friends can help defend the circle; the player who made the offering receives the roll.

Your first completed ritual has a 25% chance of awakening a power. Each failed roll improves the next chance by 15 percentage points, reaching a guaranteed sixth attempt. Failed rolls also leave Quiet Ash, which can be crafted back into splinters with amethyst and an aspect ingredient. Interrupted rituals protect your offering and do not count as failed rolls.

Choose the kind of power you roll by collecting an aspect:

– Rift: Sideways, Flashtime, Deadman and Negative Man.
– Veil: Raven, Etrigan, Loki, Manchester Black and Iron Fist.
– Living: Luke Cage, Beast Boy, Animal Channeling, Clayface, Resurrection Man, Compress, Statue, Duplicate, Shapeshifter, Matter-Eater Lad and One For All.
– Machine – Cyborg and Red Tornado.

Rituals do not replace an existing intrinsic character. Equipment powers are obtained separately. Old intrinsic-power crafting recipes have been removed, and existing players keep their powers and training. Use `/awakening` for instructions and your current chance.

Intrinsic powers

Sideways — Create linked rifts that players and mobs can travel through, save destinations and upgrade your portals.

Flashtime — Slow entities and projectiles inside a time-dilation bubble. Adjust the slowdown with sneak, the ability key and your scroll wheel. Upgrades expand the field and unlock near-frozen time, while gold lightning trails, an amber tint and a slowed activation sound complete the effect.

Deadman — Become a flying, phasing spirit with movement based on creative flight. Possess mobs and players, access a host’s inventory and temporarily borrow a possessed player’s Palladium powers and unlocked abilities. Manage energy and return to your own spirit when you release the host.

Negative Man — Leave a vulnerable, unconscious body behind and take control of a flying negative spirit. Phase through obstacles, release energy attacks and absorb heat, but protect your body and return within your time limit.

Raven — Command a winged soul-self, use telekinetic binds and protective wards, heal through empathy, teleport and take flight. Manage Emotional Strain, enter Trigon’s volcanic hell dimension and face his phased boss fight to earn White Raven.

Etrigan — Become a durable demon with enhanced melee strength, hellfire breath, an infernal eruption and powerful leaps. Fire and fall immunity support close combat, while regeneration requires a pause after taking damage. Transform by saying “Gone, gone the form of man, rise the demon Etrigan!” in chat. Return with “Gone now, O Etrigan, and rise again the form of man!”

Loki— Fight with conjured daggers, doubles, borrowed faces, disappearing acts and telekinetic pranks. Fake your death, mislead opponents and make a little trouble. A custom horned crown model accompanies the character.

Manchester Black — Use telepathy to interfere with opponents: phantom threats, hallucinations, forced item drops, reversed controls and puppet movement. Turn nearby monsters against a target or punish attackers with psychic backlash.

Iron Fist — Channel chi into martial combat, empowered strikes and trained techniques.

Luke Cage — Gain resilient skin and specialise in resisting projectiles, blasts, heat and falls. Brace against incoming attacks and draw threats away from allies. This version focuses on defence without superstrength or regeneration.

Beast Boy — Scan mobs, store them in a searchable database and transform into green-tinted forms with their stats and supported abilities, including flight. Modded mobs are supported, although unusual renderers and custom abilities may need compatibility adjustments.

Animal Channeling — Inspired by Vixen and Animal Man, borrow a creature’s strengths and supported abilities without transforming. Build a spirit library and switch between animal traits, accompanied by a coloured aura.

Clayface — Struggle to maintain your human appearance as Cohesion drains. Grow clay weapons, flow through narrow gaps as a puddle, scatter and reclaim body fragments, imitate remembered faces and become a towering clay horror.

Resurrection Man — Every death changes your next life. Return with an adaptation based on how you died, along with a matching secondary ability. Only your latest adaptation remains; normal respawn and inventory-drop rules still apply.

Compress — Capture living entities in compressed marbles. Captured players enter a pocket dimension for up to 30 seconds and can solve a puzzle to escape early.

Statue — Hold the ability key to become an invincible, immobile statue with a translucent stone coating. Gravity still applies, and your energy determines how long you can stay petrified.

Duplicate — Inspired by Twice, create doubles that follow, defend and fight alongside you. Direct them towards targets, recall them or unlock Sad Man’s Parade for a larger squad.

Shapeshifter — Remember players and store their appearances in a face library. Borrow a remembered skin and displayed name, including in standard Minecraft chat. Disguises change your appearance rather than your equipment, powers or account permissions.

Matter-Eater Lad — Eat items, tunnel through blocks and bite enemies to restore hunger. Unlock faster eating and buffs based on what you consume.

One For All — Use Full Cowling, powerful smashes, ranged pressure attacks and enhanced leaps. Pass the power to another player to strengthen its stockpile with each generation. Once you pass it on, you cannot regain it.

Cyborg — A growing machine infection progressively replaces your body with custom mechanical parts. Develop body-grown cannons, a grappling winch, shields, jets, an EMP and Boom Tubes. Rare autopilot outbreaks create an ongoing struggle for control.

Red Tornado — Assemble an android chassis with turbine flight, pressure blasts, steerable cyclones, projectile-deflecting shields and interruptible self-repair. Enter standby and reassemble without losing your training. Upgrades improve your systems without turning every encounter into an effortless win.

Equipment powers

Nova — Find and equip a Nova Corps Helmet at a rare meteorite structure. Take flight, fire energy blasts, use defensive shields and train powerful lance, rush and supernova abilities. Your own skin remains visible beneath the helmet.

Doctor Fate — Find the Helmet of Fate in desert-temple loot. Use magical attacks, protective wards, healing, teleportation and telekinesis under Nabu’s guidance. The helmet remains bound until you master its abilities.

Cosmic Staff — Claim a staff at a meteor crash site and keep it in your hotbar. Wield cosmic blasts, focused beams, protective shields and flight with a golden trail.

Yondu’s Arrow — Craft the fin controller and Yaka Arrow. Guide the arrow through enemies, target groups, recall it and keep it on standby.

Ten Rings — Collect rings from mineshaft, end-city and buried-treasure loot. Build towards a complete set to unlock stronger volleys, guard, whips, propulsion and finishing techniques, with blue and gold energy styles inspired by Shang-Chi.

Booster Gold and Skeets — Find a crashed timesphere in the Nether and acquire Skeets. Gain Booster Gold’s abilities and use timesphere technology to explore the time stream and different timelines.

Peacemaker Helmets — Find specialised helmets in Quantum Unfolding Chamber supply chests. Each offers its own abilities and effects, from pressure waves and defensive fields to movement and utility systems.

Powerplex — Craft and consume a Bio-Thermal Disc to access impact-powered electrical attacks. Absorb physical hits, store their energy and spend it on Arc Bolts, Full Discharge or Recoil Leap. Waiting around does not recharge you.

More to discover

Craft a Legion Flight Ring with four gold ingots around a feather, then equip it in a Curios ring slot for Palladium flight.

Find a Quantum Device at an overworld survey camp and place it in a clear 1 × 2 doorway. Enter the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, explore its industrial maze and discover supply chests, specialised helmets, other dimensions and hostile alternate versions of players.

Server controls

Server owners can enable persistent unique-power claims, assign a random intrinsic power to new players or restrict acquisition to operator grants:

/gamerule sbs:uniquePowers true
/gamerule sbs:randomPowerOnJoin true
/gamerule sbs:operatorOnlyPowers true

These three options default to false. Ritual acquisition is enabled by default through `sbs:ritualAwakening`. Unique claims are respected by ritual rolls and operator grants. Operators can give powers with `/sbs power give <players> <power>`.

Getting started and requirements

Once you gain a power, open Palladium’s power menu to bind abilities and browse upgrades. Characters retain their own progression. Equipment still uses the relevant Minecraft or Curios slots, so incompatible helmets cannot be worn together.

– Minecraft 1.20.1
– Forge 47.4 or newer for Minecraft 1.20.1
– Palladium 4.5.6 or newer in the 4.5.x series, with its required dependencies
– Curios API 5.14.1 or newer in the 5.x series

Install the same mod version and required dependencies on the server and every client. JEI is optional for browsing the remaining crafting recipes. Gameplay items are available in the mod’s creative tab; internal technical items are hidden.
