Smith XP Overlay for Jobs+

Smith XP Overlay is an add-on for Jobs+ that introduces a new experience calculation system for the Smith profession.

Instead of granting a fixed amount of XP for specific items, the mod calculates the reward from the materials used in the recipe and the type of item crafted.

How is XP calculated?

Example:

5 Iron Ingots × 3 XP × 1.5 Armor Multiplier = 22.5 XP

The mod recognizes:

Armor
Weapons
Tools
Other crafted items
Items and materials added by other mods

Each item category can use a separate XP multiplier.

Derived material values

The mod can calculate the value of intermediate materials from their crafting recipes.

Examples:

If an ingot is worth 3 XP, each of the 9 nuggets crafted from it is worth approximately 0.33 XP.
A plate crafted from two ingots receives a value of 6 XP.
An item crafted from that plate uses its calculated material value.

Crafting intermediate materials does not grant Smith XP directly. This prevents infinite XP loops from reversible recipes, such as converting an ingot into nuggets and back again.

In-game configuration

Open the configuration screen with:

/smithxp config

The in-game interface allows you to:

Select the item held in your main hand
Browse every registered item from Minecraft and installed mods
Search by item name or registry ID
Assign custom XP values to materials
Browse and remove existing rules
Configure separate multipliers for armor, weapons, tools, and other items
Preview the calculated value of a recipe

The configuration is saved in:

config/smith-xp-overlay.json

Requirements

Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge
Jobs+ 9.x

The mod should be installed on the server because XP is calculated server-side. It must also be installed on the client to access the in-game configuration interface.

Players without the mod can connect to a server using it, but they will not have access to the configuration GUI.
