Skillbound Origins — Origins, Classes & RPG Progression

Skillbound Origins transforms Minecraft progression into a proper RPG-style character system built around permanent choices, meaningful strengths, and real weaknesses.

At the beginning of your journey, you receive an Origin Codex allowing you to choose an Origin and Class. Your decision is permanent, shaping how your character fights, survives, explores, and uses magic for the rest of that world.

Instead of every build eventually becoming good at everything, each class has advantages and drawbacks. Heavy fighters sacrifice mobility, rogues trade durability for speed, and powerful spellcasters become significantly weaker in physical combat. Your build actually matters.

• Permanent Origins & Classes — choose once and build your character around that decision.
• Custom Skill Tree — earn Skill Points and invest into Damage, Defense, and Spell Power.
• Combat XP Contribution — XP is based on how much damage each real player contributed, including spell and projectile damage. Assisting another player still rewards you.
• Balanced RPG Classes — Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Paladin, Starry Mage and Deathed Warrior each have different stats and weaknesses.
• Origins — Human, High Elf and Wizard provide another layer of specialization on top of your Class.
• Real Spellcaster Progression — Mage-focused builds gain mana and spell power while sacrificing physical damage, defense, and sometimes mobility.
• Non-Mage Restrictions — ordinary martial classes have only 1 maximum mana and cannot simply bypass their class by using spell scrolls.
• Class Abilities — Warrior can summon three orbiting blades, while High Elf gains a powerful nearby healing ability. Both use dedicated cooldowns instead of mana.
• Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks Integration — Spell Power and Max Mana directly affect Iron’s Spells attributes.
• BielGG’s Spells Support — Skillbound Spell Power also scales Shadow magic when its Shadow spell-power attribute is available.
• Generated Ruins — discover two naturally generated ruin types while exploring new chunks.
• Massively Varied Loot — ruins use 1,000 randomized loot-table variations, ranging from junk and basic materials to diamonds, magical loot, Apotheosis equipment and extremely rare Cataclysm rewards.
• High Elf Traits — increased maximum health, increased height with Pehkui, improved step height, a healing ability, but reduced physical damage and defense.
• Persistent Progression — Origin, Class, XP and Skill Tree progression survive deaths, dimension changes and reconnecting.

Build Examples

A Warrior gains physical damage and defense but becomes slower, forcing an aggressive frontline playstyle.

A Rogue is significantly faster and deals increased physical damage, but loses defense and maximum health.

A Mage receives increased Spell Power and Mana while suffering reduced physical damage, defense and movement speed.

A Starry Mage pushes magic even further with the strongest class Spell Power bonus, capped at +25%, but pays for it with much weaker physical combat and durability.

A Paladin becomes extremely durable with additional hearts and defense, but sacrifices mobility.

A Deathed Warrior combines high damage, defense and extra health with a major movement-speed penalty.

Magic Compatibility

Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks is supported directly for Max Mana and Spell Power.

BielGG’s Spells is supported for Shadow Spell Power. Skillbound automatically looks for registered Shadow spell-power attributes, making the integration less dependent on a particular internal BielGG version.

Pehkui is supported for the High Elf’s increased body size.

Skillbound Origins is built for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 and is designed to fit naturally into larger RPG, magic, boss, exploration and progression-focused modpacks.
