👻 Soulbound Enchant

Keep your best gear when you die. Soulbound Enchant adds a single enchantment, Soulbound, that binds an item to your soul. Enchanted items stay with you on death and come back when you respawn. ✨

✨ Features

• 🔮 One simple enchantment. No new items, no new blocks, nothing to learn.
• ⚔️ Works on your gear: armor, weapons, tools, bows, crossbows, tridents, maces, fishing rods, shields and elytra.
• 🎒 Items return in their original slot whenever possible (inventory, armor slots and offhand).
• 🚫 No duplicates. Soulbound items are removed from the death drops, so they can’t be looted or duplicated.
• 💾 Survives restarts. Items are stored safely, so logging out or restarting the server before respawning won’t lose them.
• 🧩 Data-driven. Supported items are defined in a tag that datapacks can extend.

📖 How to get it

Soulbound is a regular (non-treasure) enchantment, so you can find it:

• 🪄 In the enchanting table
• 📦 In loot chests
• 🎣 As fishing treasure
• 🧑‍🌾 By trading with villagers (enchanted books)

It has a single level and is incompatible with Curse of Vanishing.

🔗 Compatibility

• 🪨 Waystones: the Warp Stone can be enchanted with Soulbound. Waystones is completely optional.
• 🎮 keepInventory: if the gamerule is on, the mod doesn’t do anything extra.
• ⚠️ Curios and Accessories slots are not supported yet.

⚙️ Configuration

An optional setting lets Soulbound items lose a percentage of their durability when they return on respawn. It is off by default, and it never breaks the item.
