Reskillable TaCZ Compat

xSxLabs Reskillable TaCZ Compat

xSxLabs Reskillable TaCZ Compat is a small client-side compatibility mod for TaCZ and Reskillable Reimagined.

It fixes a crash that can occur when viewing TaCZ weapons in interfaces such as the TaCZ workbench while Reskillable Reimagined is installed.

The Problem

Reskillable Reimagined processes item tooltips and includes handling for TaCZ weapons.

Some TaCZ gun packs use namespaced gun identifiers such as:

elitex:ak47

During tooltip processing, Reskillable can incorrectly use this identifier while constructing another Minecraft resource location.

This may result in an invalid identifier such as:

tacz:modern_kinetic_gun__elitex:ak47

Because Minecraft resource paths cannot contain an additional namespace separator, the client can crash when the affected weapon tooltip is rendered.

This is especially noticeable when browsing weapons in the TaCZ workbench.

What This Mod Changes

The compat applies a very small client-side patch to Reskillable’s tooltip handling.

When the displayed item is a TaCZ gun, the problematic Reskillable tooltip processing is skipped.

This prevents the invalid resource location from being created and allows TaCZ weapons to be viewed normally.

What This Mod Does NOT Change

This mod does not replace or modify the gameplay systems of either original mod.

It does not change:

• TaCZ weapon behavior
• shooting mechanics
• gun packs
• attachments
• ammunition
• crafting recipes
• Reskillable progression
• skill requirements
• skill locks
• item usage restrictions
• combat mechanics
• server gameplay
• TaCZ workbench functionality

The original mods continue to handle their own functionality.

This compat only prevents the specific tooltip crash.
