Pickles to Skellys

Turn sea pickles into spawners and iron chestplates into elytra — purely visual, purely client-side. Nothing is sent to the server, and you can switch any part off.

Features

Spawner look

• Sea pickles render as a spawner cage with the mob spinning inside, flame particles included
• Pick any mob: skeleton, zombie, blaze, creeper, wither skeleton and more, or type any mob ID
• The inventory item is renamed (e.g. “Skeleton Spawner”) with custom lore
• Metal break/step sounds and a full-cube hitbox, so it feels like a real spawner

Right-click spawner menu

• Right-click a disguised pickle to open a chest-style spawner menu
• Sell All, a spawner info button with a “% filled” line, Drop Loot, and page arrows
• Per-mob loot, stored XP and sort options
• Client-side only: the menu is drawn locally and no packets are sent, so servers can’t see it. Menu contents are cosmetic data stored on your machine.
• Sneak-click or use a non-empty hand to skip the menu (both configurable)

Elytra look

• Iron chestplates show up as elytra in the inventory, in hand, and as wings on your back
• Name and lore are customisable, and the armor stat lines are hidden so it reads like a real elytra

Customisation

Open the config screen with /pickles or the optional keybind (Controls → Pickles to Skellys). You can change:

• Spawner look, elytra look, mob inside, flame particles, metal sounds, full-cube hitbox
• Right-click menu, empty-hand-only, sneak-to-skip
• Mob choice or custom mob ID, spin speed, render range
• Spawner and elytra names, with & colour codes

For more control, config/pickles-to-skellys.json lets you edit the menu title, button layout and icons, lore, capacity, price per item, and the stored loot.

The spawner and elytra looks are also two built-in resource packs. You can turn either one off under Options → Resource Packs.

Commands

• /pickles opens the config screen
• /pickles menu opens the spawner menu
• /pickles reload reloads the config file

Requirements

• Minecraft 26.1 – 26.3 (pick the file matching your version)
• Java 25
• Fabric Loader and Fabric API
• Client-side only; you don’t need it on the server

Notes

• This is cosmetic only. It doesn’t change what blocks or items actually are, and it gives no gameplay advantage.
• The menu is modelled on popular spawner GUIs and filled with local, simulated data. It is not a real spawner interface.
• Some servers’ rules restrict visual client mods, so check them before using it.
