Take your time… and take their hearts! Persona: Combat Experience turns Minecraft fights into stylish Persona 5–style turn-based battles and wraps the whole game in a bold red-and-black Phantom Thieves interface.

Turn-Based Battles

Hit a monster (or let it hit you) and the world freezes into a battle arena. ​

• Battle commands: Attack, Gun, Skill, Guard, Item and Escape, all picked from a P5-style command wheel
• Ambushes: get the first strike with Surprise Attack!, or get AMBUSHED! yourself
• Weaknesses & resistances: every mob has elemental affinities. Hit a weakness or land a crit to knock the enemy down and get 1 MORE!
• All-Out Attack: knock every enemy down and finish them in one strike with your whole party
• Cinematic camera: an over-the-shoulder battle camera, plus a line-up formation when the battle starts
• Melee dash: your character rushes the enemy, strikes and jumps back into place
• Bow & crossbow animations: draw the bow or charge the crossbow, then fire. Bows and crossbows act as your Gun, with limited ammo per battle
• Damage pop-ups, WEAK / CRITICAL / MISS labels, buffs and debuffs, and a Victory results screen ​

Personas

Choose one of 9 Personas. Each has its own Arcana, a main element, a weakness, a resistance and a set of skills that unlock as you level up: ​ Arsène · Zorro · Captain Kidd · Carmen · Goemon · Johanna · Milady · Robin Hood · Necronomicon ​ Fire, Ice, Electric, Wind, Psychokinesis, Nuclear, Bless, Curse and Almighty spells (Agi, Bufu, Zio, Garu, Psi, Frei, Kouha, Eiha, Megido…) plus healing and support skills. Skills cost SP, which regenerates outside battle.

Weapon Skills

Your held weapon decides your physical skills. Swords, katanas, rapiers, daggers, greatswords, axes, hammers, spears, scythes, staves, twinblades, chakrams, tridents, maces, bows and crossbows each have their own move set (Lunge, Cleave, Kill Rush, Giant Slice, Rampage…). ​

Teams, Alliances & Duels

• Create a party of up to 4 players. Teammates fight together and can’t hurt each other
• Alliances between teams
• PvP battles and duels with a request system and a parry window for surprise attacks
• In-game notifications for invites, requests and battle results ​

Mob Squads

Monsters can spawn in squads that follow their leader and join the fight together. Battles also respect intent detection, so an accidental hit won’t start a fight. ​

Phantom Interface

• Persona 5–style title screen and pause menu
• New HUD (HP / SP panel) and hotbar
• Restyled survival & creative inventory, buttons, sliders and toasts
• Team, Notifications and Persona menus ​ Every UI element can be switched off separately.

Configuration

Almost everything can be configured in-game (Mods → Persona: Combat Experience → Config): damage multipliers, weakness and crit bonuses, turn timer, ammo, escape chance, battle formation, melee dash, ranged animations, team size, squads, and every UI module. ​
