Orbital Strike Cannon

Call down TNT formations, creeper strikes, fireballs and arrow rain using custom fishing rods. Choose your strike, aim at a block and right-click to lock the target.

Built for Minecraft Java 26.3, with support for the Overworld, Nether and End.

The arsenal

| Ghast Fireball | 97 fireballs | Falling fireballs with increased explosion power. |
| TNT Minecart | 145 minecarts | Falling TNT minecarts using vanilla explosion mechanics. |
| Arrow Rain | 1,400 arrows | Fast, critical arrows arranged in a dense disc, with two arrows at each position. |
| Chunk Eater | One placed item | Removes a 16×16 chunk column through most of the dimension’s build height, leaving bedrock intact. |

Each rod has a fixed attack type. Rods come in infinite, unbreakable and single-use variants. Chunk Eater is available only as an infinite item.

No cooldown or concurrent strike limit.

Getting started

Get the complete arsenal in a purple shulker box:

/function skyfall:give_crate

The crate contains eight infinite rods, eight single-use rods and one infinite Chunk Eater.

Hold a rod in your main hand, aim at a block and right-click. A short target warning appears before the strike begins.

To use Chunk Eater, place its armor stand item on a block. It activates after the warning period. Successful placement returns the item to non-Creative players.

Get all infinite items:

Get individual infinite rods:

Add _ammo for the corresponding single-use rod, for example:

Get Chunk Eater:

Cancel all currently loaded Orbital strikes:

/function skyfall:abort

Show help and settings:

/function skyfall:help
/function skyfall:config

Commands require the appropriate permissions. Single-use rods are consumed only after a successful target lock.

Installation

Datapack

1. Place the ZIP in your world’s datapacks folder.
2. Remove the previous Orbital datapack ZIP.
3. Run /reload.
4. Use /function skyfall:give_crate.

Fabric

1. Install Fabric Loader and Fabric API for Minecraft 26.3.
2. Place the Orbital JAR in your mods folder.
3. Remove the previous Orbital JAR and restart Minecraft.
4. Use /function skyfall:give_crate.

Use one edition at a time in the same world.

Settings

Adjust the targeting range between 32 and 256 blocks:

/scoreboard players set #range sf_cfg 128

Adjust the warning duration between 10 and 200 ticks:

/scoreboard players set #warning sf_cfg 40

Disable or enable new strikes:

/scoreboard players set #enabled sf_cfg 0
/scoreboard players set #enabled sf_cfg 1

Settings are preserved when reloading.

Performance and gameplay notes

Large strikes can cause substantial lag depending on hardware, terrain, loaded chunks and the number of simultaneous attacks. Version 0.9.0 fixes dimension counters and batches counter updates to reduce command overhead.

Strikes operate in loaded chunks. Actual damage and crater size depend on terrain and vanilla mechanics.

Overlapping arrows do not guarantee double damage, because normal damage immunity still applies. Creeper and fireball terrain damage respects mob_griefing; Chunk Eater removes blocks directly.

Back up worlds before using destructive strikes near important builds.
