Open Modular Turrets Legacy

A 1.20.1 port of Open Modular Turrets by the OpenModularTurrets Team (Poenjabiesous, UntouchedWagons, Keridos).

Build turret bases, power them, load them with ammo and put turret heads on top. Each base decides what its turrets shoot at and who they leave alone.

Features

• Ten turret heads: Disposable, Potato Cannon, Machine Gun, Incendiary, Grenade, Rocket, Laser, Railgun, Relativistic and Teleporter, each with its own range, fire rate, damage and energy cost.
• Five base tiers: a turret base holds the energy, the ammo and the targeting rules. Tier 1 stores 500 FE and carries one head, tier 5 stores 10,000,000 FE and carries four.
• Five upgrades: Accuracy, Efficiency, Fire Rate, Range and Scatter Shot.
• Six addons: Concealer, Damage Boost, Recycler, Redstone Reactor, Solar Panel and Fake Drops.
• Targeting you control: per-base toggles for mobs, neutrals and players, a trust list for friends, and a global trust list for every base you own.
• Support blocks: the Expander, the Energizer, the Loot Deleter, a lever for redstone control, and the Turret Memory Card for copying a base’s settings.
• Base camouflage: disguise a base as another block.
• JEI, EMI and Jade: recipe pages in JEI and EMI, and a Jade overlay for bases and heads.

Getting started

Craft a Turret Base, place it, and right click it to open the base screen. Feed it Forge energy, put ammo in the ammo slots, then place a turret head on top of the base. The base’s Configure screen sets what it shoots at and who it trusts.

/omlib trust gui opens your global trust list, /omlib share lets another player use your blocks, and /omlib changeowner hands a block over.

Passive defense

Open Modular Passive Defense Legacy adds hardened blocks, walls, damaging fences and a camouflage trap to build around your turrets.

Legacy and Reborn

Open Modular Turrets Reborn by ShapeShifterDev brought Open Modular Turrets to 1.20.1 first, in June 2026, and deserves the credit for that. It is a rebuilt and rebalanced take on the mod: a new ore, Ferronite, with its own crafting chain, an eleventh turret (the Plasma Turret), a coal-powered tier 1 base, reworked recipes without the tier chain, rebalanced turret stats, new particles and sounds, and turret parts in Nether loot.

Legacy is the 1.12.2 mod’s own content on 1.20.1: its ten turrets, its recipes and tier chain, its turret stats, and the OpenModularTurrets Team’s models, textures and sounds, with Open Modular Passive Defense as a companion mod. Pick Reborn for a reworked OMT with new progression, and Legacy for the original content.

Changes from the original

• /omshareowner, /omchangeowner and /omdebug are now subcommands of /omlib.
• Fixed: any player could edit another player’s global trust list.
• FloodLights, the Potentia Converter addon and the Serial Port addon are not included.
