One Health Bar – Ultra Hardcore

One life. One health bar. For the whole class.

In Une Barre de Vie (“One Health Bar”), zafeel, Mastu and Hctuan try to beat Minecraft in ultra hardcore… sharing a single health bar. When one of them loses a heart, everyone does. When one dies, the run is lost for all.

Keeping an eye on them: Maîtresse Boulon, a robot schoolteacher who lets nothing slide.

The classroom

Every run starts in a classroom. Pupils hang up their coats, line up, come in one by one… and Maîtresse Boulon explains the rules. Once everyone has rung the bell, the blackboard lifts and the run begins.

At the back of the class sit zafeel, LordFinn, Hctuan and Mastu: look at one for their channels, right-click for clickable links.

Shared health, ultra hardcore

• One health bar for the whole team: every hit is shared.
• No natural regeneration: only golden apples, potions and beacons heal (or switch to hardcore on her computer).
• The head of whoever made the class lose health shows above the hearts. Someone is always to blame.

Grades

Each run gets its own grade out of 20, simple to work out: 14 to start with, +1 per step validated, +1 per bon point, -1 per mauvais point, -1 per heart lost, +1 per heart given back to the class, -5 for losing the run. The report card shows the average of the last 5 runs, and the diploma reads its mention.

Watch out for the spawn egg hidden in a barrel at the back of the class: using it is cheating (-5).

Maîtresse Boulon’s blackboard

The classroom blackboard is interactive (click it, or press B anywhere):

• This run: the 9 steps to beat the game, from the Stone Age to the dragon, with the timer.
• The class: every pupil’s report card; click one for their grades run by run.
• Class book: the run history and every heart lost, minute by minute.
• Questions: ask her anything, she answers… her way.

Her computer: the game options

On the left of her desk, for the world’s host or operators: a right-click opens the game options on a chalk board. Game (ultra hardcore or hardcore, linked hunger, punishments, no crypt for the first runs, chatter, theme), Grades (every value above), Conduct (each rule’s bons or mauvais points: healing, saving the class, the first chest, hitting a classmate, falls, fire, hunger).

Good points, dunce caps and diplomas

• Every step reached earns a good point (bon point).
• A silly run loss earns the culprit a dunce cap, and repeated defeats a trip to the crypt (not during the first 3 runs).
• Beating the game earns the whole class a diploma, with a mention.

In game

Hold Tab: steps, timer, deaths and who lost how many hearts.

Flashback

When the run is lost, the class can watch a replay of the last moments, to understand (and laugh at) what happened.

For streamers

• Maîtresse Boulon can quote mocking messages from the Twitch chat (turn it on in sharedhearts/twitch.json on the server).
• The step bar at the top of the screen lets viewers follow the progress.

Dans Une Barre de Vie, zafeel, Mastu et Hctuan tentent de finir Minecraft en ultra hardcore… en partageant la même barre de vie. Quand l’un perd un cœur, tout le monde le perd. Quand l’un meurt, la run est perdue pour tous. Et pour les surveiller, il y a Maîtresse Boulon, une maîtresse robot qui ne laisse rien passer.

• La classe : chaque run commence en classe. Manteaux sur les crochets, rang, entrée un par un, explication des règles, puis la cloche : le tableau se soulève et la run commence. Au fond, zafeel, LordFinn, Hctuan et Mastu : on les vise pour voir leurs chaînes, clic droit pour les liens.
• Vie partagée, ultra hardcore : une seule barre de cœurs, aucune régénération naturelle. Seules les pommes dorées, les potions et les balises soignent. La tête du coupable s’affiche au-dessus des cœurs.
• Les notes : une note par run, simple à calculer (14 de départ, +1 par étape, +1 par bon point, -1 par mauvais point, -1 par cœur perdu, +1 par cœur rendu, -5 si on fait perdre la run). Le bulletin affiche la moyenne des 5 dernières runs, le diplôme sa mention. Et gare à l’œuf caché au fond de la classe : l’utiliser, c’est tricher (-5).
• Le tableau (clic, ou touche B) : les 9 étapes jusqu’au dragon, les fiches des élèves (clic : leurs notes run par run), le cahier de classe avec chaque cœur perdu, et des questions à poser à la maîtresse.
• L’ordinateur de la maîtresse : à gauche de son bureau, pour l’hôte du monde ou les ops, les options de la partie sur une ardoise (mode, faim liée, punitions, notes, règles de conduite en points).
• Bons points, bonnets d’âne, crypte, diplômes : un bon point par étape, un bonnet d’âne au coupable d’une run ratée bêtement, la crypte pour les défaites répétées (pas pendant les 3 premières runs), un diplôme avec mention pour toute la classe en fin de jeu.
• Flashback : le replay des derniers instants quand la run est perdue.
• Pour les streamers : la maîtresse peut citer les moqueries du chat Twitch (à activer dans sharedhearts/twitch.json sur le serveur), et la barre d’étapes permet aux spectateurs de suivre la run.
