Nearby Player Alert

A client-side Fabric mod that tells you when other players are close.

Features

Movable and resizable HUD list of nearby players (drag it anywhere on screen)
Shows each player’s name, head, distance and the direction they are in (an arrow relative to where you are looking)
Shows the armor and held items of those players, as your game already displays them
Optional proximity beep that gets faster as the closest player gets nearer, with adjustable range, speed and volume
Configurable detection range, maximum list size and a nickname whitelist
Everything is configurable in-game

There are two ways:

Press K while in a world (the default key). You can change the key in Options > Controls > Key Binds, in the Miscellaneous category.
Mod Menu (optional): open the Mods screen, select Nearby Player Alert and click the settings button.

In the settings screen you can:

turn the mod, gear, head, arrow and sound on or off
set the detection range, the maximum number of players on the list and the nickname whitelist
open Sound settings (beeping range, speed, volume)
open Move / resize list to drag the list to any place on the screen, and drag the bright bars on its left or right edge to change its width

Settings are saved automatically in config/playerradar.json.

Client-side only. Install it on your client; it is not needed on the server.
The mod only uses information your client already has about loaded players. It does not request or reveal any extra information from the server.
Requires Fabric API. Mod Menu is optional.
Many servers restrict mods like this. You are responsible for following the rules of the server you play on.
