No Mine’s Sky – Space Travel

Take off from the ground, fly up to space and land on the Moon, without a single loading screen. The world is a round planet (or the real Earth, if you pick it when creating the world), and a Saturn V takes you there.

No Mine’s Sky

Take off, leave the atmosphere and land on the Moon. No loading screen at any point.

This is an alpha. The trip already works from start to finish, but there is a lot still coming.

Before you play

Make a new world. It doesn’t work on worlds made before you installed it.
Don’t use it on your favorite world. Something can break, and an update can break the world.
Don’t start a survival world you plan to keep. A lot is still going to change and old worlds may not carry over.
Make a backup before updating the mod.
Needs NavCore 21.4 (1.21.1) or 20.4 (1.20.1). This NavCore version doesn’t break Nav’s Motors or any other mod that uses it.

What’s in it

The world is a planet. Walk far enough and you go all the way around it.
When you create the world you pick the planet: more sea, less sea, balanced, or the real Earth, with the real coastlines, rivers, mountains and climate.
Fly up and the sky turns into space. The Earth shows up below you, round, at the right size for how high you are.
Space with the Earth, the Moon and the Sun, and markers showing how far each one is.
Land on the Moon and look at the Earth in its sky.
A Saturn V that does the whole trip by itself: countdown, liftoff, the stages dropping off one by one, the way to the Moon and the landing. For now you spawn it with /nave, get in and press space.

It’s an alpha, so keep in mind

Tested mostly in single player.
It’s heavy on weaker PCs and integrated graphics, especially flying fast.
Biomes O’ Plenty takes over our biomes for now.
Some of the text in the game is still only in Portuguese.

The real Earth is made with Natural Earth (coastlines and rivers), NOAA ETOPO 2022 (terrain height) and the Köppen-Geiger climate map by Rubel et al. 2017, through the kgcpy package.
