The Hollow Station — version 0.3.0 beta is a playable horror ARG for Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 with Fabric. Decode strange recordings, follow nighttime coordinates, and decide how the story ends.

Features

• The Witness appears behind you. Looking toward it triggers a heartbeat, brief darkness, and a recorded backward glance.
• Three connected cases: The Witness Protocol, The Lighthouse That Never Existed, and The Hollow Station.
• Cipher puzzles, coordinate searches, relic rituals, and six distinct endings.
• Spyglass defense: face an apparition while holding a spyglass to dispel it without recording a backward glance.
• A Phantom-based Reflection appears at high signal pressure.
• Optional echo trails point toward coordinate objectives.
• Rising signal pressure adds phantom footsteps and soul-particle echoes.
• Hold a lantern and look steeply down for three seconds to reduce pressure.
• Story and Nightmare modes. Nightmare doubles scheduled Witness appearances and increases pressure faster.
• A replayable clue journal, optional signal HUD, hints, pause/resume, and reduced-darkness setting.
• Separate player progress in multiplayer.

Install and begin

Requires Minecraft Java 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.20.1 or newer, and Fabric API for 26.3. Custom launchers and dedicated servers need Java 25 or newer. Put this mod JAR and Fabric API in the instance’s mods folder.

Enter an Overworld world and use:

/trigger nlb.menu set 1

Use Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty and an open area with room behind you. The Witness uses Minecraft’s existing Enderman model with its ordinary AI disabled. The Reflection uses the existing Phantom model. This is a data-driven Fabric mod using vanilla assets.

Controls

Use /trigger nlb.menu set NUMBER with:

• 1 — begin or restart Case 01
• 2 — pause and dismiss your Witness
• 3 — resume
• 4 — hints (may reveal answers)
• 5 — status and coordinates
• 6 — toggle Story / Nightmare
• 7 — reread your current clue
• 8 — toggle the signal HUD
• 9 — open Case 02 after reaching an ending
• 10 — toggle reduced darkness effects
• 11 — toggle echo trails
• 12 — open Case 03 after completing a case

Submit decoded numbers with /trigger nlb.code set NUMBER. Progress survives save/reload; dying pauses the case. All three cases progress in the Overworld. A supplied amethyst shard is used in Case 02.

Offline ARG evidence

The optional secret route in Case 01 uses an offline evidence archive. Open the downloaded JAR as a ZIP archive, extract the case-files folder, and open OPEN-CASE-99.html in a browser. It includes an interactive file and a Morse recording, with a text alternative. Cases 02 and 03 can be completed entirely in game. All characters and recordings are fictional.

Beta status

Headless testing on Minecraft 26.3 / Fabric checked the original ending transitions, pressure and its cap, the lantern ritual, Case 02 unlock, the binary key, daytime/nighttime coordinate gates, the shard ritual, and the fourth ending. Version 0.3.0 also passed headless checks for spyglass defense, Reflection spawning, coordinate gates, the soul-sand/echo-shard sneaking ritual, and both new ticket-choice endings. A full graphical client playthrough and real-player co-op remain untested.

The station and train are narrative ARG elements; no generated station, train vehicle, new dimensions, or custom creature models are included. Install this mod on the server for multiplayer; its data-only gameplay can be used by vanilla clients. Do not install a duplicate datapack of the same gameplay.
