MyMarket: Barter

A player-to-player market for Fabric servers, built on barter. List an item and choose any item or block of the game as the price (for example, 10 diamonds). No economy mod needed.

Two interfaces, one market

– Modern interface (players with the mod + owo-lib): tabs, live search, categories, a table of grouped items you can expand to see every offer, your inventory and a sell form on the right, and a searchable picker of every item and block to choose the price.
– Chest interface (everyone else, nothing to install): a classic chest menu with categories, sorting and pages. Search and sell by clicking, then typing in chat.

The server automatically picks the right interface for each player.

Features

– Barter pricing: pay with any item or block, no money system required.
– Player space: My listings, Earnings to claim, Withdrawn items, Sales history.
– Live updates: open menus refresh when someone buys, sells or cancels.
– Notifications: pop-up (or chat message) when something sells, and a summary when you log back in.
– Expiration: unsold listings go back to their owner’s “Withdrawn items” after a delay you choose.
– Limits: maximum listings for the whole market, per player, and per group through LuckPerms; price limits.
– Moderation: banned items and currencies, optional sales tax, and admin commands to inspect and remove listings.
– Transaction journal: a daily log of every sale, cancellation, expiration and claim.
– Translations: English and French included. Add your own language by dropping a JSON file into the config folder.
– Safe saving: data is written atomically to world/data/mymarket/.
– For developers: events (ITEM_LISTED, ITEM_PURCHASED, LISTING_CANCELLED, LISTING_EXPIRED) let other mods react to the market.

Requirements

– Minecraft 1.21.11, Fabric Loader 0.18+, Fabric API, Java 21.
– Server: the MyMarket jar.
– Players (optional): the MyMarket jar and owo-lib to get the modern interface. Without them, players get the chest interface.
– LuckPerms (optional): per-group listing limits and the admin permission.

Commands

Permissions: mymarket.admin for the admin commands (without a permission plugin: operator level 4; the console is always allowed). LuckPerms meta mymarket.max_listings overrides the per-player limit (`-1` = unlimited). 

Configuration

On first start the server creates:

config.json contains the language, listing limits, expiration, tax, restrictions, history cap, notifications, logging and a debug option to buy your own listings when testing alone. Every section has a description inside the file. Run /mymarket reload from the console to apply changes.

Add a language: copy lang/en_us.json to lang/it_it.json, translate the values, set "language": "it_it" and reload. Players with the modern interface receive the server’s language automatically.
