MPM+ Skinfix

A client-side patch for MorePlayerModels+ (1.7.10) that redirects Steve64 and Alex skin requests to minecraft.net with automatic Mineatar failover instead of relying on Crafatar only.

🔹 Installation

Drop MPMPlusSkinFix-1.0.0.jar into your .minecraft/mods folder next to MorePlayerModels-Plus-4.2.jar. Client-side only; do not install on servers.

• Fixes Steve64 and Alex models reverting to default Steve when Crafatar is down
• Loads skins directly from minecraft.net through vanilla SkinManager
• Model and appearance persistence between singleplayer worlds and multiplayer servers

⚙️ How it works

MPM+ routes 64×64 and Alex models through crafatar.com, which frequently drops connections or rate-limits requests, leaving players with the default Steve skin. This coremod patches RenderMPM.loadPlayerResource at startup to use the vanilla minecraft.net skin pipeline instead, with Mineatar as a backup.
