介绍
English
What the moss touches, Moss can hear.
Mossdread is a horror adventure mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). Something called Musgo grows under your spawn: a living moss that spreads at night, hunts by sound and slowly takes the world. Find out what happened to Moss, the man who lived in the clearing, and decide whether to burn the forest’s bosses or set them free.
Play your way
The first time you enter a world you choose a game mode. Change it any time with U or the Mossdread button in the pause menu.
- Horror: the full experience.
- Adventure: no scares, slower moss. Bosses, zones and villagers stay.
- Nightmare: more scares, tougher bosses, fast moss and frequent Green Nights.
- Explorer: creatures only fight if you attack them.
There are also 12 options per world: moss speed, peaceful or fierce creatures, boss difficulty, how often Moss stalks you, and more. The menu also has visual options, a bestiary with 3D models and your progress.
Five voiced bosses, and one hidden
Every boss has combat phases, warning marks on the ground and its own boss bar. All of them except the Moth Queen also get a cinematic introduction the first time you meet them and spoken lines in English or Spanish.
- The Hollow Woodcutter: sweeping blows, thrown logs and a charge across the field. It burrows and emerges under the noisiest player.
- The Spore Mother: a giant swamp flower shielded by four roots. It plants spore mines and heals inside a cocoon.
- The Echo: invisible until revealed. It copies your sounds, and its strikes hit again a second later.
- Moss, Forest Form: the final boss at the Mother Root, under your spawn.
- The Moth Queen: a night flyer that follows light and puts out your torch.
- The Jailer (hidden): he watches you from a distance at random moments. The third time, he comes for you.
The bosses are smart: they turn on whoever hurts them most, leap when stuck, dodge arrows and punish pillaring.
Surrender and redemption
At low health a boss may kneel. Right-click it to try to redeem it: it might accept, or it might get enraged. Bring the right offering and it always accepts. A redeemed boss fights on your side and gives you a unique, balanced weapon:
- Hollow Axe: fells whole trees.
- Spore Staff: a poison cloud.
- Echo Dagger: +60% backstab damage.
- Moss Sword: slows enemies and regenerates you on kills.
- Jailer’s Chain: pulls enemies toward you.
The Silent Ones and the villagers
- Silent Ones: villagers whose mouths are covered by moss. They write the story in the dirt, trade with you and move closer at night when you’re not looking. Give one azalea tea to give it its voice back.
- The Sad Silent One: lives in a candlelit house and sells different random items every day.
- The Frightened Villager: a night event. Protect her from three waves of moss creatures for two minutes and she rewards you.
- Vanilla villagers: they greet you, whisper rumors about Moss out loud, and have new trades.
A world built around your spawn
Zones are built automatically as you explore:
- The Mother Root and the Old Tree
- The Spore Swamp and the Silent Village
- Camps and the Watchtower
- The Mushroom Glade and the Silent Mine
- A hidden prison
- The Sad Silent One’s house
There are also seven moss dolls to find.
More
- The Green Night: some nights the whole moss wakes up. Green fog, waves of Mosslings and no sleeping until dawn.
- Horror filter and moss fog: a built-in shader with vignette, grain, muted colours and green shadows. It gets stronger at night, in caves and near Moss.
- Resource pack “Mossdread: Visual Dread”: built in, one click to enable. It has a new title screen and panorama, original music, mossy blocks and a pale moon.
- Noise system: creatures hear you. Sneak to stay quiet, and use
/ruidoto see your noise level. - Night scare director: footsteps behind you, notes in your inventory, signs with your name and a watcher in the distance. Everything can be configured or turned off.
- New blocks: Breathing Moss, Glowing Moss, Spore Carpet and Trap Moss.
- Minigame “Contain the Blight”: plant a Blight Seed and keep the moss under control for 60 seconds.
- Gear: armor sets, enchantments, a moss snail you can ride, Moss’s diary in 10 pages, and visible and hidden advancements.
