Frens adds friendly NPC companions to Minecraft.

Spawn a companion, have them follow you, and assign survival tasks like woodcutting, mining, fishing, and basic building. Companions keep their inventory and stats between sessions and are built to handle everyday hazards while they work.

Talking companions (optional, beta)

With Ollama running on your machine, companions answer you in chat, remember what happened, banter with each other, and can speak with voices. It’s off by default, and in-game Guide → AI setup walks you through it.

⚠️ This part is very much in beta: expect slowness and odd replies, and setups other than Apple Silicon Macs have had little testing. Everything else works without it.

Requirements

Fabric Loader and Fabric API, installed on both client and server. Don’t install it next to the original AI-Player mod: Frens is a fork of it and the two conflict.

Frens 支持哪些 Minecraft 版本？

Frens 支持 Minecraft Java 版 1.21.11，可用的加载器：Fabric。下载时注意选择和你游戏版本一致的文件。

Frens 怎么安装？

先用 PCL2 或 HMCL 启动器安装对应版本的 Fabric，再把下载的 .jar 文件放进游戏目录的 mods 文件夹，重新启动游戏即可。开启了版本隔离的，mods 文件夹在 versions/版本名下面。运行环境：客户端和服务端都要装。
