介绍
# Lodistance
### Your server’s whole world, on every player’s horizon.
Most distance mods only show what **you** have loaded yourself. Lodistance is built around your
**server**: install it on your Fabric server, and every player instantly sees the **entire explored
world** in the distance: the spawn town, a friend’s base across the ocean, the mountain range someone
mapped last month. Even places they have never visited.
No pre-generating on every PC. No waiting until you’ve flown everywhere. Join, and the world is there.
—
## How it works
1. Put **Lodistance** in your Fabric server’s mods folder.
2. Players put the **same jar** in their mods folder.
3. That’s it. The server streams compact terrain data in the background, and each player’s
horizon fills up with the real world: builds, biomes, rivers and all.
**Built to be gentle on your server**
– Sends only what changed since a player’s last visit
– Skips region files that haven’t changed, so returning players cost almost nothing
– Runs in the background with a bandwidth limit, and won’t cause lag for anyone playing
– Settings in `config/lodistance-server.properties` (max distance, bandwidth, queue size)
—
## Also a great distance mod on its own
No server mod? Lodistance still works everywhere:
– **Singleplayer**: your saved world is imported automatically, and newly generated terrain
(for example from **Chunky**) appears within about a minute
– **Any server**: everything you explore is remembered, so it stays visible even on servers with
a tiny view distance
## Looks right, runs well
– **Up to 2048 chunks** of distant terrain
– **Real 3D detail** up close: stairs, slabs, fences, doors, trees and structures in their real shape
– **Chests, signs, beds, banners and heads** show up too, with their real textures
(resource packs supported)
– **Biome-accurate colours** for grass, leaves and water
– **Seamless blending** with normal terrain and fog
– **OpenGL and Vulkan** through Minecraft’s own renderer (with Sodium)
– **Presets for every PC**: Low, Medium, High, Ultra and Ultra+
– **Custom block colours**: in the lightweight single-colour mode, pick any colour per block with a
colour wheel and presets, for example green instead of brown grass in the distance
## Settings & commands
Everything is in **Options → Video Settings → Lodistance** (Sodium settings screen).
| Command | Description |
|—|—|
| `/lodistance` | Status, server sync progress and statistics |
| `/lodistance on` / `off` | Enable or disable LODs |
| `/lodistance distance <16-2048>` | LOD distance in chunks |
| `/lodistance quality <1-5>` | Detail at distance (5 = Ultra+) |
| `/lodistance colors` | Open the block colour editor |
| `/lodistance rebuild` | Rebuild all LODs |
| `/lodistance import` | Import the singleplayer world again |
| `/lodistance wipe` | Delete this world’s LOD data and rebuild |
## Requirements
– Minecraft **26.3**, Fabric Loader 0.19.5+, **Fabric API**, Java 25
– **Sodium** on the client (recommended: needed for Vulkan and the settings page)
– Server: Fabric server with Fabric API
## Compatibility
– Replaces other LOD mods: don’t combine with **Distant Horizons** or **Voxy**.
– **Iris**: shader packs don’t light Lodistance’s distant terrain; choose to keep the LODs with
Lodistance’s own lighting, or hide them while a shader pack is active.
## Tips for weaker PCs
Start with **Low** or **Medium**. Still too slow? Lower the 3D detail distance first, then the LOD
distance. Turn block textures off for the lightest look and use custom colours to style it.
