**Locks (Unofficial Legacy Build)**

An unofficial recompile of *Locks* by Melonslise for Minecraft 1.12.2. This isn’t a fork in the GitHub sense — it’s rebuilt from scratch against current tooling — but all original design and code credit belongs to Melonslise. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the original author.

The official 1.12.2 release (Locks-1.12.2-3.0.0) shipped in December 2021 and hasn’t been touched since. It no longer builds against current ForgeGradle/Mixin tooling, so this exists to keep it compiling and playable — nothing about what the mod does has changed.

Locks lets you attach flexible, universal locks to almost any block: chests, doors, furnaces, hoppers, dispensers, and blocks added by other mods too. Locked blocks open with the matching key, or can be cracked with a lock-picking minigame. Locks can be enchanted, and dungeon-generated chests can spawn already locked.

**What’s different from the original**
– Recompiled to work with current ForgeGradle/Mixin tooling
– No longer ships a private copy of Mixin — relies on MixinBooter instead
– Fixed a crash triggered when some mods (Vanilla Builders Extension is the one that surfaced it) call `Block.getExplosionResistance` with a null `World` during block construction

**Requirements**
– Minecraft 1.12.2, Forge 14.23.5.2864 or newer
– MixinBooter (confirmed on 11.15) — required, the mod won’t launch without it
