Historical Oddities

Craft unusual historical equipment: eight 3D helmets, five weapons and two shields, with Survival recipes and a dedicated creative tab. Models and textures are included in the mod.

Equipment

• Helmets: Beast Helmet, Henry VIII’s Horned Helmet, Boar-Tusk Helmet, Rabbit Kabuto, Conch Shellmet, Sir Whiskers’ Visor, Kettle Hat and Frog-Mouth Jousting Helm.
• Weapons: Peacock Katar, Elephant-Hilt Pata, Sword-Breaker Dagger, Flanged Mace and Raven’s Beak War Hammer.
• Shields: Gauntlet Shield and Highland Targe, usable in either hand.

The equipment has different armor, durability, damage and attack speeds. The frog-mouth helm trades a 5% movement penalty for extra protection; the gauntlet shield slows movement by 4% in either hand. The lightweight targe needs no iron. Craft the items in Survival or find all fifteen in the Historical Oddities creative tab.

Repair the beast helmet with diamonds, the boar-tusk helmet with leather, the targe with oak planks, and the other items with iron ingots. The mace and hammer follow iron-axe combat rules. The sword-breaker is a dagger with ordinary sword behavior.

Optional playful abilities

Use /oddities playful on to enable abilities for yourself, or /oddities playful off to disable them. Playful Mode starts off.

• Rabbit Kabuto: begin crouching for Jump Boost I lasting three seconds, with an eight-second cooldown.
• Conch Shellmet: begin crouching for a horn sound.
• Sir Whiskers’ Visor: begin crouching for a celebration sound.

The sound actions have two-second cooldowns. Holding crouch does not repeat an ability. With cheats or operator permission, /oddities give_all gives all items.
