A slime chunk finder mod for Minecraft 26.3: find every slime chunk without leaving the game.

Slime Chunk Finder & Highlighter (formerly Highlight Slime Chunk) shows each slime chunk within your render distance as a see-through green column, from the bottom of the world to the build limit. Plan a slime farm, spawnproof your base or gather slimeballs without seed websites or trial and error. In singleplayer the seed is detected for you; on a server, enter it once and it is remembered.

Every slime chunk within your render distance gets its own column, so you can spot them from any height.

About 1 in 10 chunks is a slime chunk. The mod runs the same check Minecraft uses and highlights every match around you.

Requirements

Installation

1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 26.3 or 1.21.1.
2. Download Fabric API and this mod, then place both jars in your mods folder.
3. Launch the game and join a world. A pop-up shows which key turns the columns on (F7 by default). In singleplayer, the seed is detected automatically.
4. On a server, run /slimechunk seed <value> with the server’s seed. Operators can find it with /seed; otherwise, ask the server owner.

Hotkey

The columns are off each time you start the game. Press F7 to turn them on or off. A message above your hotbar tells you which. To use a different key, open Options › Controls › Key Binds and look for Slime Chunk Highlighter.

What’s New in 1.3.0

• Starts off: the columns are hidden when you start the game, so they only show when you want them. Press F7 to turn them on.
• Join tip: when you join a world or server with the columns off, a pop-up in the corner tells you which key turns them on. If you changed the key, it shows your key.
• Tip setting: /slimechunk hint false hides the pop-up and /slimechunk hint true brings it back. The choice is saved in config/slimechunk.properties.
• Minecraft 1.21.1: version 1.3.0 is now available for 1.21.1, with the same features as the 26.3 build.
• Still on 26.2 or 26.1? Older versions are on the Files tab.

Tips

• Slimes spawn in slime chunks only below Y 40, and light does not stop them. On a default superflat world, the entire surface is below that height.
• To spawnproof a slime chunk, cover the floor with bottom slabs, glass or carpet.
• If the columns look wrong on a Spigot or Paper server, the server may use a custom slime seed (seed-slime in spigot.yml). Ask the server owner.
• Swamp slimes follow different spawn rules and are not shown.

Is there a slime chunk mod for Minecraft 26.3?

Yes. This slime chunk finder supports Minecraft 26.3 on Fabric. Many slime chunk mods stopped updating at 1.21 or earlier; this one is built for 26.3. Still on 26.2 or 26.1? Older builds are on the Files tab.

Is there a slime chunk mod for Minecraft 1.21.1?

Yes. Version 1.3.0 of this slime chunk finder also supports Minecraft 1.21.1 on Fabric, with the same green columns, F7 toggle and server seed support. Pick the 1.21.1 file on the Files tab. It needs Java 21.

How do I find slime chunks in Minecraft Java Edition?

Install Fabric Loader, Fabric API and this mod, open a singleplayer world and press F7. Every slime chunk within your render distance turns into a green column, so you can walk straight to one. On a server, set the seed first (see below). The mod runs the same check Minecraft uses to decide where slimes spawn.

How is it different from other slime chunk finders?

Many slime chunk finders only tell you whether the chunk you are standing in is a slime chunk. This one shows every slime chunk around you at once, so it is easy to pick a spot for a farm.

Does this slime chunk finder work on servers?

Yes. It runs only on your client, so nothing is installed on the server. It needs the server’s seed: run /slimechunk seed <value> once and the mod remembers it for that server address. The mod cannot work out a seed by itself. Operators can see it with /seed; otherwise, ask the server owner. Check the server’s rules before using any client-side mod.

Can I use it to plan a slime farm?

Yes. Each column has lines on its corners, so you can see exactly where the chunk starts and ends from any height. Slimes spawn in slime chunks only below Y 40, and light does not stop them.

Does it work in superflat worlds?

Yes. On a default superflat world the whole surface is below Y 40, so slimes can spawn right on the ground in every highlighted chunk.

Does it add a slime chunk map or minimap?

No. There is no map screen or minimap. Slime chunks are marked in the world itself, so you see them from the ground or from the air while you build.

Is there a Forge or NeoForge version?

No. It is a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java Edition, and Fabric API is its only dependency.
