Hackle’s Spooky Lands Revived!

I’m breathing new life into an old mod I hadn’t had time to maintain. I’m hoping everything goes better this time around. 🙂

I’m going to start out focusing on structures, mobs, and decorations. I’d like to follow up into magic, biomes, and dimensions as the mod progresses. My goal is thought out, quality additions. I want minecraft to feel spooky, mysterious, and dangerous.

Quality of life add-on requested by my wife: Pet Wander

New: Pet wander mode
Sneak-click a tamed pet to make it wander near a spot instead of following you. Sneak-click again to cycle between follow, sit and wander. It works on vanilla pets, ravens, and tameable pets from other mods. You can change the wander radius, exclude specific pets, or turn off the sneak requirement in the config.

New: Cobwebs 
A simple but nice effect. Newly generated chunks now have the odd cobweb on trees and next to natural pumpkins. You can change the chance for each, or turn them off. 

New Dungeon Structure: Climber’s Fall
Looks can be deceiving! A new frozen structure in Ice Spikes and other snowy biomes. An explorer didn’t make it.

Ravens have come to SpookyLands! These clever black birds bring life (and a little mischief) to forests, plains and the lonely places in between.

Wild ravens:

Fly, soar and glide in flocks that stick together.
Perch high on fences, rooftops and trees, and sometimes take a bath in shallow water or cauldrons.
Drawn to gallows. Where there’s a gallows, there are usually ravens.
Ride on the backs of cows, pigs, sheep and horses, or even on villagers’ heads.
Thieves! They’ll snatch valuables from your hands, swipe dropped shinies and raid your crops.
Build nests to stash their loot. Find one and you might strike it rich.

Scarecrows:

Craft an animated scarecrow (carved pumpkin, hay bale, sticks) to keep ravens away from your stuff and your fields
Watch out for the rare bold raven. It isn’t scared at all and will happily perch right on top of your scarecrow.

Taming:

Win a raven over with valuables.
Tamed ravens sit or follow you, ride on your shoulder and never steal from you.
Like cats, they sometimes bring you gifts!
