Ground Item Cleaner

Summary:

Server-side: clears dropped items lying on the ground every 5 minutes, with chat warnings at 5 min, 1 min, 30 s and a 5-4-3-2-1 countdown. Items on conveyors, belts, hoppers and funnels are left alone.

Why

On a busy server, dropped items pile up everywhere: mob drops, broken blocks, junk thrown on the floor. Every one of them is an entity the server has to tick, and they end up costing TPS. This mod cleans them up on a fixed timer and always warns players first, so nobody loses their loot by surprise.

What it does

• Every 5 minutes, it removes item entities lying on the ground in every dimension.
• Chat warnings with a short sound:
  • 5 minutes before (sent right after the previous clean, or when the server starts);
  • 1 minute before;
  • 30 seconds before;
  • then a countdown: 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…
• Summary after each clean: « X objet(s) au sol supprimé(s) ».

What it never removes

• Items on conveyors and machines, recognised by the block they sit on or in: conveyor belts, belts, funnels, chutes, depots, tunnels, hoppers, sorters, elevators… The block list is a config regex. Items riding Create belts are not ground items at all, so they are never touched.
• Display items: items with unlimited lifetime, as used by shops and showcases.
• Protected items from a config list. By default: Nether Star, Dragon Egg and every Shulker Box.

The default messages are in French. Change them in the messages section to use another language.

Installation

• Server only. Put the jar in the server’s mods folder. Players don’t need it, and it works with vanilla clients joining a NeoForge server.
• Singleplayer: put it in your mods folder, the integrated server runs it.
• Requires NeoForge 21.1.x for Minecraft 1.21.1.
• No dependencies.
