GregTech Vein Integration

GregTech Vein Integration is a utility mod that automatically generates compatibility datapacks between GregTech CEu ore veins and other mods.

Instead of manually maintaining hundreds of recipes or mining definitions, this mod analyzes the GregTech world generation during startup and generates datapacks that faithfully reproduce the same ore distribution for supported mods.

The generated datapacks are completely transparent for the player and require no manual configuration.

Why?

Many Minecraft mods include their own mining systems:

• Industrial Foregoing Laser Drill
• Occultism Miner
• Mekanism Digital Miner
• Future quarry or resource generation mods

Unfortunately, these systems usually rely on their own handcrafted ore lists, completely ignoring the world generation defined by GregTech.

This creates several problems:

• Resources obtainable from machines may not match the actual world generation.
• Heavily customized modpacks require maintaining dozens or even hundreds of datapacks manually.
• Every GregTech update forces pack developers to review all integrations again.

This project solves that problem automatically.

How It Works

During startup, the mod inspects every GregTech ore vein registered by GTCEu.

For every vein, it extracts information such as:

• Dimensions
• Height range
• Distribution type
• Vein weight
• Density
• Contained ores
• Ore probabilities
• Biome restrictions (future)
• Any other relevant placement information

Once every vein has been analyzed, the mod reconstructs the information grouped by material rather than by vein.

Finally, it generates datapacks matching the format expected by every supported mod.

The result is that external mining systems behave as if they understood GregTech natively.

Supported Integrations

Industrial Foregoing

For Industrial Foregoing, the generator creates Laser Drill recipes automatically.

Instead of using Industrial Foregoing’s default handcrafted ore tables, every generated recipe reflects the actual GregTech world generation. Each material is reconstructed from every GregTech vein where it appears.

The generated recipe includes:

• Lens color
• Output item
• Rarity entries
• Height limits
• Dimensions
• Biome restrictions (future)

The generated recipes are written as normal datapacks and override Industrial Foregoing’s defaults whenever necessary.

Intended Audience

This mod is not intended for end users.

It is a development tool designed primarily for:

• Modpack developers
• Datapack authors
• GregTech CEu pack maintainers

If you simply want to play a modpack, you most likely do not need this mod. Its purpose is to automatically generate compatibility datapacks that can later be distributed together with the modpack.

Usage

1. Install the required mods

At minimum, install:

• GregTech CEu
• GregTech Vein Integration
• Any additional supported mods you want to generate compatibility for (e.g., Industrial Foregoing).

2. Launch the game

Start Minecraft normally. The mod will scan every GregTech ore vein and prepare the compatibility generator.

3. Generate the datapacks

Once inside a world, execute the generation command:

/gtvi

(Note: Replace the command above with the final command name if it changes before release).

The generator will automatically create compatibility datapacks for every supported mod currently installed.

4. Copy the generated datapacks

The generated datapacks can now be copied into your modpack’s openloader or global datapacks folder. They are ordinary Minecraft datapacks and do not require GregTech Vein Integration to be present for the players.

Typical Workflow

1. Install your development instance.
2. Configure your custom GregTech ore generation.
3. Install any supported integration mods.
4. Run the /gtvi generation command in-game.
5. Copy the generated datapacks into your distribution modpack.
6. Remove GregTech Vein Integration before publishing the pack to players.

Repeat this process whenever your GregTech ore generation configs change.

• Minecraft: 1.20.1
• Mod Loader: Forge
• Dependency: GregTech CEu

Additional integrations are enabled automatically when their corresponding mods are detected.
