Goatjo Quest Hooks

Goatjo Quest Hooks is a lightweight Forge 1.20.1 server-side addon made for the GoatjoMC JujutsuCraft server setup.

This mod improves quest progression handling by making kill-based quests credit the correct player only. It is designed for servers using custom weekly/daily quest systems where specific mobs need to count toward player quest progress.

Version 1.0.8 Changes

This update changes kill credit handling to be stricter and more accurate.

Previously, the mod could collect multiple possible killers from damage history, entity owners, last attacker data, and related NBT fields. This could cause players who only damaged a mob earlier to receive quest progress when someone else got the final kill.

In this version, quest progress is now awarded to the actual killing damage source or valid player owner first. Fallback handling remains for unusual modded damage cases, but normal quest credit should now only go to the correct killer.

Example Fix

For quests such as the Disaster Curses weekly quest, if one player damages a curse and another player gets the kill, only the player who actually killed the mob should receive quest progress.

Installation

Install this mod on the server by placing the jar inside the server’s mods folder.

This mod is intended for Forge 1.20.1 servers.

Notes

This mod is built specifically for the GoatjoMC server/modpack environment and may not be useful outside setups using the same custom quest progression system.
