Frostveil

Quick Mention:
Frostveil is designed to be played as part of a larger modpack rather than as a standalone mod, however it can be run alone if you are looking for a Cold Biome expansion to Minecraft.

The Frostveil Mod

adds a frost-themed progression path built around a new critical hit system. Mine Frost and Frostveil ore to craft tools, weapons, and armor that outperform anything vanilla offers in both damage and critical hit chance.

🗡️ Combat
Vanilla’s jump-based critical hits are disabled and replaced with a percentage-based system. Weapon tooltips display live stats, updating attack damage and crit chance as buffs, potions, and enchantments change.

⚔️ Crit Boosters
The Critical Strike enchantment increases crit chance further, and two brewable potions — Potion of Crit Chance and Potion of Crit Damage — offer Long and Strong variants for additional scaling. Both stack with Frostveil gear.

❄️ Materials
Two new material tiers are included: Frost, positioned between Iron and Diamond, and Frostveil, the mod’s top-tier material, exceeding Netherite. Winter Berry Bushes generate in snowy biomes and can be eaten raw or crafted into a Winter Berry Salad, which grants a temporary Crit Chance bonus.

🛡️ Armor Set Bonuses
Wearing a complete matching armor set — vanilla or modded — grants a set-specific bonus, giving each tier a distinct identity rather than being purely stat-based.

🌳 Skill Tree
Players progress through four branches — Combat, Mining, Vitality, and Forging — unlocking perks as they level up. Each branch supports a different playstyle, from crit-focused combat to efficient mining, survivability, or smithing bonuses. Skill Tree progress is tracked per player, so multiple players on the same server can pursue different builds independently.

💍 Curios Accessories
With the Curios API installed, nine upgradeable rings, a Frostveil Necklace, a Frost Core, and a Charm Belt (which unlocks an additional accessory slot) are available, each offering combat, mining, or utility bonuses.
