Friday’s Wooden Variants

Ever wanted a spruce crafting table in your cabin, a cherry bookshelf in your library or a warped barrel in your Nether base? This mod adds a variant of (almost) every wooden block, item and tool for every wood type: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, pale oak, poplar, bamboo, crimson and warped.

Every variant works exactly like its vanilla counterpart. No new mechanics, no new GUIs, just more wood.

What’s included

Blocks
– Crafting tables, chests & trapped chests, barrels, bookshelves & chiseled bookshelves
– Lecterns, cartography, fletching & smithing tables, looms, grindstones, composters, crafters, smokers
– Beehives, ladders, beds (all 16 colors), banners (all 16 colors)
– Note blocks, jukeboxes, daylight detectors
– Campfires & soul campfires, torches (normal, soul, copper, redstone)
– Rails, powered rails, activator rails, levers, tripwire hooks, pistons & sticky pistons
– Creaking hearts that spawn a creaking of their own wood

Items & entities
– Sticks and bowls for every wood (stews keep the bowl’s wood)
– Wooden tools in every wood, plus every combination of head and handle wood
– Stone, copper, iron, gold and diamond tools with a handle of your wood (shown in the tooltip)
– Bows, crossbows, fishing rods, carrot & warped fungus on a stick, brushes
– Arrows (normal, spectral, tipped) and shields
– Armor stands, item frames & glow item frames, paintings, chest minecarts

Fully vanilla-compatible
– Villagers use the variant workstations and sleep in variant beds
– Bees live in variant beehives, parrots and allays dance to variant jukeboxes
– Variants count as their vanilla block in recipes (e.g. a spruce chest still makes a hopper)
– Vanilla recipes still accept any planks; matching planks give the matching variant
– Put any variant alone into a crafting grid to turn it back into the vanilla version

Crafting
Craft the variants just like the vanilla blocks, using the planks, logs, slabs or sticks of the wood you want. Sticks are crafted from planks as usual and keep their wood type.
