Fate Tokens

Fate Tokens is a mod based on the Youtube series Minecraft SOS. It adds a new resurrection mechanic to hardcore games based around the Fate Token item.

With Fate Tokens enabled, players will leave a Gravestone behind when they die, starting a countdown to when that gravestone is destroyed. A another player can spend a Fate Token to resurrect the dead player by using it on a gravestone.

This mod also adjusts the loot tables of Evokers to remove the Totem of Undying. You can still use /give @s minecraft:totem_of_undying to get one. I may make this configurable in a later version.

Note: Currently there is no in-game way to get Fate Tokens, but you can get them with /give @s fate_tokens:fate_token or from the mod’s tab in the Creative menu.

Gamerules

• fateTokensEnabled (bool) – Enable/disable the Fate Tokens mod functionality. If set to False, the game will behave like a vanilla game.
• fateTokensDeathTimer (number) – Time (in seconds) before a player’s gravestone is destroyed. Once the player’s gravestone is destroyed, they cannot be resurrected with Fate Tokens.
• fateTokensCost (number) – Number of Fate Tokens required to resurrect a player. A Token will be consumed each time you right-click until the cost is met.

Credits

• The entire idea for this mod is the Minecraft SOS series. This is not the mod that they use on their server, I just wanted a version for my friends to play with.
• Fate Token from Novaskin – I’m pretty sure this isn’t the original source, so if I can’t find the artist I’ll likely change this sprite in the next bugfix release.

Known Issues

• The rose sprite on the Gravestone block has black borders on the transparency.
