Far Land Core

The rules and extras that hold the Far Lands pack together.

Far Lands Core is the heart of the Far Lands modpack. It lays out the road from your first village to the Elder Dragon, makes the land wilder the farther you travel, hides rare things in far chests, lets villagers pay only out of their village’s savings and brings rumours and news by post. It also holds the pack’s balance rules, so that no farm ever beats going out and exploring.

• 🏆 The Far Lands advancement tab: the road from your first village to the Elder Dragon, every world, every great foe and four collections.
• 📖 The Wayfarer’s Journal: a guide book every player gets on first join.
• 🗺️ The frontier: beyond 1,500 blocks from spawn, monsters grow tougher and chests richer, tier by tier.
• 💎 Far finds: chests far out, and champions, may hold a rumour or a rare metal or gem from another world.
• 💰 Village trade: villagers pay emeralds only out of their village’s savings: 32 emeralds at most, 4 more every morning. No more emerald farms.
• ✉️ The post (with Envelope): order rumours from the Survey Office, and get letters from raided villages that need your help.
• 🦴 Collections: every fossil, sherd, trim template and music disc, with rewards.
• ⛏️ Regional ores (with Generation Tweaks): zinc, silver, thorium and magnetite lie in geological regions like every other ore.
• ⚖️ Pack rules: no iron from golem farms or washed gravel, no guns, stronger bosses, champions only among monsters, gear without a single best material.
• 💡 Loading-screen tips about the pack and its mods (with the Aether, whose tip line shows them).
• 🔧 Fixes for the pack’s mods, among them Distant Horizons’ far colours, shaders with Distant Horizons, and Sable ships under ScalableLux.

🚀 Getting started

1. Read the first chapter of the Wayfarer’s Journal, The Road.
2. Open the advancements screen and pick the Far Lands tab: it shows the road and what is still missing.
3. Find a village and trade with its people. The action bar tells you how many emeralds the village can spare.
4. Push outward. The action bar tells you whenever you cross into the next frontier tier: build a forward base before you go deeper.

📦 Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge
• Nothing else. Each part for another mod only switches on when that mod is installed.
• Recommended: Modonomicon, for the Wayfarer’s Journal

⚙️ Good to know

• Made for the Far Lands modpack. In another pack it brings only the parts for the mods you have.
• Config farlands-common.toml: the frontier (safe radius, tier width, the bonus per tier) and village trade (purse size, refill, discount cap).
• Operator commands: /farlands frontier (the tier where you stand) and /farlands purse (the savings of the village here).
