Extinction Echoes

Four species with lives of their own. Velociraptors hunt in packs across a shared territory, coordinate with calls, and remember whether you’ve earned their trust. Tyrannosaurs choose prey by size and hunger, guard a kill, and sleep off a heavy meal. Brachiosaurs herd, browse, drink and rest, and put themselves between a calf and whatever is approaching. Every creature carries hunger, thirst, stamina and injury — and acts on them.

Holding them is the other half. An enclosure is a sealed boundary and a controller that knows about it. Five barrier grades are rated against the break force and escape skill of what they hold, and floor area is a hard requirement, not a preference — fall short and the animals never settle, work the fence, and eventually find the weak part of it.

The route. Fossils generate underground in every overworld biome. Mine them for fragments, analyse eight into a genome, incubate the genome into an egg, hatch it — and have the enclosure finished before it opens. Two craftable books, a Containment Handbook and a Keeper’s Field Manual, explain the whole chain in game, down to what each feeder accepts.

Vorathyx. At the end of it: an abyssal dimension, a temple, and a 450-block leviathan circling it. It fights in four stages read off its own health, each one adding an attack — a ring of tornadoes summoned around the temple, an aimed water lance, a breaching tsunami — and tightening the pressure it carries with it. Kill it and it leaves its staff, which throws those same three attacks, and its egg, which hatches in water into a five-block infant you can raise to a seventy-five block juvenile.
