DragonMineZ — Shoulder Surfing Compatibility

Fly, aim techniques, and lock onto enemies with Shoulder Surfing’s over-the-shoulder camera.

This client-side addon makes DragonMineZ 2.1.3 and Shoulder Surfing Reloaded 5.2.0 work together on Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.

Features

• Fixes startup crashes caused by both mods modifying shoulder-camera positioning.
• Fixes sideways flight, allowing A/D strafing without unwanted player rotation.
• Synchronizes fast-flight steering between DragonMineZ’s flight orientation and the shoulder camera.
• Aligns technique aiming with the shoulder crosshair.
• Fixes lock-on selection so targets are selected along the shoulder-camera crosshair.
• Tracks locked targets with both the camera and player while preserving sideways movement.
• Preserves DragonMineZ’s other camera effects, including flight roll.

Requirements

DragonMineZ also requires its normal dependencies: GeckoLib, TerraBlender, and Curios API, using compatible Forge 1.20.1 builds.

DragonMineZ 2.2, Fabric, and NeoForge are not supported by this release.

Installation

1. Install the required versions of both mods and DragonMineZ’s dependencies.
2. Place this addon’s JAR in your profile’s mods folder.
3. Remove any older version of this compatibility addon.
4. Restart Minecraft and use F5, or your configured Change Perspective key, to enter shoulder view.

Install this addon on your client. It is not required on the dedicated server.

How it works

Shoulder Surfing takes control of shoulder-camera positioning. The addon disables DragonMineZ’s conflicting positioning hook while keeping its other camera effects.

Additional compatibility hooks coordinate flight input, player facing, technique aiming, and lock-on tracking. The original mod files are not modified.

Use Shoulder Surfing’s settings to adjust your shoulder camera. This addon adds no new keybinds.

Lock-on

Lock-on uses your existing DragonMineZ controls and still requires:

• The appropriate Ki Sense skill.
• An eligible target within your skill’s range.
• Line of sight to the target.

The addon does not unlock skills or extend targeting range. While locked, the camera follows your target; unlock to resume normal camera control.

Compatibility

Tested with Forge 47.4.28, DragonMineZ 2.1.3, and Shoulder Surfing Reloaded 5.2.0. Other camera, movement, combat, or targeting mods may affect behavior.

When reporting a problem, include your mod versions, Forge version, latest.log, and steps to reproduce it.
