Nothing lasts forever. Not the ground beneath you, and not the creatures around you.

Decay is a subtle survival-horror twist on vanilla Minecraft. Every 60 seconds, the world around you quietly falls apart. Sometimes a whole type of block crumbles away, and sometimes an entire species simply vanishes, never to return.

⏳ How It Works
Every 1 minute, the mod looks at the loaded world around each player, up to a 64-chunk radius in every direction
90% of the time, it picks one random naturally generated block type, such as stone, dirt, ores, logs, leaves or sand, and removes every instance of it at once
10% of the time, it instead picks a random mob type nearby and erases every one of them. They will not come back in that area, because any that respawn are removed again
A chat message always announces exactly what was lost and how much of it
🛡️ Smart & Fair
Only naturally generated blocks are affected. Anything you place with your own hands is completely safe and will never decay
Critical blocks like chests, furnaces, crafting tables, spawners, bedrock and end portal frames are always protected
Ender Dragon and Wither are exempt from mob decay, so boss fights stay intact
Works in multiplayer, with decay centered on each player

Version 1.5 uses a new time-sliced decay engine. Instead of freezing the game to scan a huge area, the work is spread over many ticks in small, fast steps, so the game keeps running smoothly while the world crumbles around you.
