D20 Chaos

With D20 Chaos, you never know your fate. Will it be good? Bad? Who knows! Only the dice…

Every 20 minutes, the dice rolls, affecting your basic attributes based on the number it lands on, with a chance on every player action of triggering a random event.

The 5 main events affected by D20 Chaos are:

• Walking: Hazards or speed shifts as you move.
• Breaking Blocks: Unexpected yields or dangers when mining.
• Placing Blocks: Build-altering anomalies and structural shifts.
• Combat: Volatile battle buffs or sudden boss spawns.
• Crafting: Critical creations or recipe disasters.

There are also 5 main tiers (from worst to best):

• Tier 1 (Critical Failure): Calamities, cages, and deadly traps.
• Tier 2 (Failure): Intrusive debuffs and annoying obstacles.
• Tier 3 (Neutral): Quirky visual effects or minor changes.
• Tier 4 (Success): Useful buffs and resource boosts.
• Tier 5 (Critical Success): Divine power and ultimate loot.

There are 3 random occurrences per tier and per main action, keeping every roll entirely unpredictable!

Lucky Block (https://modrinth.com/mod/luckyblock) – Works fine without it, the events related to it will not happen.

In-Game Commands

Use /d20 in chat (requires cheats or OP permissions):

• /d20 status – Shows your active tier, remaining time on the cycle, chaos percentage, trigger chance, and mod integration status.
• /d20 integrations – Shows whether supported optional mods (like Lucky Block) are detected and active (true or false).
• /d20 list – Lists all registered events, categories, and tiers.
• /d20 trigger <event_id> – Instantly runs any registered event by its ID.
• /d20 nextCycle – Manually triggers the master dice roll to start the next cycle immediately.
• /d20 setTier <1-20> – Forces the master roll to a specific number (1 to 20).
• /d20 timer <seconds> – Changes the remaining seconds on the current cycle.
• /d20 cycle <seconds> – Changes the global cycle duration (default: 1200 seconds / 20 minutes).
• /d20 chance <0.0-1.0> – Changes the action trigger chance (e.g. 1.0 for 100% trigger on every action).

Compatibility

There are no known incompatibilities with other mods. It works cleanly with any.

Obs: May have a visual glitch if used along with Tough as Nails because of the position of the D20 Dice.

Target version: Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.
