Works on its own with vanilla Minecraft and Fabric API; no other mod is required. The same machine also ships inside BUTTERFINGERS — install one or the other, not both.

Riding
- You steer it like you steer yourself: the body follows where you look. W forward, S back, A and D sidestep; back and sideways are slower than forward, and it only runs forward.
- Charge jump: tap Space for a short hop (about 3 blocks), hold it to charge (full after 1 second, about 6 blocks). The knees bend while it charges and the horse-style jump bar shows the charge. Falls never hurt the machine or you.
- Jetpack boost: in the air, hold Space to fire the back jet. With a direction held it also pushes that way; with none it goes straight up. The fuel gauge refills while standing on the ground or the sea floor, and also whenever the machine is in water and not firing.
- Horizontal boost: press Cradle: Horizontal boost (default V) for a short jet dash in the direction you are moving, or straight ahead if no move key is held. It works in the air, in water and on the ground, uses part of the same fuel gauge and has a short cooldown.
- Water: it sinks slowly and walks on the sea floor like an iron mech. The gauge refills underwater, so you can pulse the jet to rise to the surface and dash onto the shore.
- While you ride, outside hits go to the Cradle (armor 13, 180 health) instead of you. Climbing out sets you down on solid ground beside it.
- Leave with the Cradle: Dismount key (default Left Alt). Plain Shift crouches and does not throw you out.
Weapons
- Longhammer: hold attack to spin the barrels up and fire; hold use to aim (the view narrows). Reload with Cradle: Reload (default R); the swap takes 2.5 seconds, and you cannot fire or walk during it. It lowers the gun while running.
- Longknife: mounted on the Cradle, the attack button swings it — a wind-up, a fast cut with the torso twisting into it, and a follow-through. The hit lands at the moment of the cut.
- Cradle Vanguard: attack swings the arm blade in a slower, heavier stroke that hits harder; hold use to raise the shield, which cuts damage from the front by 80%.
- The Cradle’s weapons hit every living thing except you and the Cradle itself, sea life included.
- Sneak and right-click with an empty hand to take the gun back, then the blade; with nothing mounted it packs the Cradle back into its item.
All three keys (Reload, Dismount, Horizontal boost) can be changed under Options → Controls → Key Binds → Cradle.
