Combat 2.0

Bring 1.8-style sword combat to modern Minecraft.

Combat 2.0 now applies its features directly to vanilla swords—no separate Legacy Swords needed.

⚔ Features

• Full-strength sword attacks without modern attack cooldown scaling.

• No sweeping attacks.

• Classic-style knockback, airborne lift, and sprint knockback.

• Instant sword blocking and block-hitting.

• Classic-style critical hits and armor reduction against sword attacks.

• Sharpness adds 1.25 damage per level.

• Attack Damage tooltips include Sharpness’s bonus: a Diamond Sword with Sharpness V displays 13.25 damage.

Supports wooden, stone, copper, iron, golden, diamond, and netherite swords. Copper and netherite use equivalent balancing because they did not exist in Minecraft 1.8.

🔨 Crafting and Existing Items

Use normal vanilla sword recipes. Netherite swords use the normal smithing upgrade.

Existing Legacy Swords automatically convert to their vanilla equivalents when carried, preserving names, enchantments, and saved item data. Damage exceeding the updated durability limit is capped just below breakage.

Compatibility

Designed to recreate core 1.8 combat mechanics; it does not reproduce every detail of the original game.

Compilation and standalone checks have passed. Live gameplay remains unverified.
