CNPCPlus-Fix

CNPCPlus-Fix is a community-driven improvement and bug-fix addon for CustomNPCs.

It does not replace CustomNPCs.

Instead, it improves the existing CustomNPCs mod while preserving its original design philosophy.

The project focuses on:

• Bug fixes.
• Improvements to existing CustomNPCs systems.
• NPC customization enhancements.
• Developer tools and scripting improvements.
• Creator workflow improvements.
• Fixes and improvements that cannot be reasonably implemented through CNPC scripts alone.

CNPCPlus-Fix is primarily intended for:

• Minecraft modded map creators and development teams.
• Adventure map development teams.
• RPG server developers and development teams.
• Modpack creators.
• CustomNPCs script developers.

CNPCPlus-Fix does not aim to create an entirely new NPC system. Its purpose is to improve the existing CustomNPCs experience.

Project Philosophy

The goal of CNPCPlus-Fix is to make CustomNPCs more stable and practical while preserving its original design.

The project follows these principles:

• Preserve compatibility with existing worlds whenever possible.
• Repair problematic or unfinished features, including complete rewrites when necessary.
• Prioritize real problems and feature requests from the community.
• Focus development on the actual needs of the Chinese CustomNPCs community.
• Maintain independent development and release decisions.

Independent Development

CNPCPlus-Fix has completely abandoned the pursuit of upstream support and cooperation.

Due to significant differences in development philosophy and other circumstances, the project will no longer seek support, cooperation or feature integration from GoodBird or the upstream CustomNPCs project.

From this point onward, all development decisions, updates and feature requests will be based exclusively on the needs and feedback of the Chinese CustomNPCs community.

CNPCPlus-Fix is now an independently maintained community project, with its own development direction and release schedule.

Supported Versions

CNPCPlus-Fix follows a version-locked development strategy.

The supported CustomNPCs versions are fixed. The project will not automatically follow future upstream releases.

Important:

• Minecraft 1.20.1 only supports CustomNPCs 1.20.1.20260711.
• Minecraft 1.21.1 only supports CustomNPCs 1.21.1.20251230.
• Minecraft 1.12.2 uses the latest official CustomNPCs release, as upstream development for this version has been discontinued.

Other CustomNPCs versions are not officially supported.

Different Minecraft versions may have different features and development progress.

Development Roadmap

CNPCPlus-Fix will continue development until V5.0.0.

Last Guaranteed Stable Versions

• V3.5.0: Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge and 1.21.1 NeoForge.
• V4.0.0: Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge.

Final Development Milestone

V5.0.0 will be the final planned release of CNPCPlus-Fix.

After V5.0.0, the project will permanently end further updates and maintenance.

Compatibility Policy

Future development will no longer prioritize compatibility with other mods.

Crashes, conflicts and compatibility problems caused by other mods will no longer be covered by the project’s maintenance commitments.

Development will focus on CNPCPlus-Fix itself and the actual needs of the Chinese CustomNPCs community.

Community Feedback

CNPCPlus-Fix is built around real problems encountered by CustomNPCs users, map creators and developers.

If you encounter problems while using CustomNPCs or have suggestions for improvements, community feedback is welcome.

For bug reports, please provide relevant information whenever possible:

• Minecraft version.
• CustomNPCs version.
• CNPCPlus-Fix version.
• Crash reports or latest.log.
• Reproduction steps.
• Screenshots or videos when appropriate.

Community feedback will remain the sole basis for future development priorities.

独立开发

CNPCPlus-Fix 已经彻底放弃寻求上游支持与合作的路线。

由于开发理念等方面存在较大分歧，以及个人因素和相关团队变化，项目此后将不再寻求 GoodBird 或上游 CustomNPCs 项目的支持、合作及功能合并。

从现在开始，项目后续的所有开发方向、更新与功能需求，都将完全以 CNPC 中文社区的实际需求和反馈为准。

CNPCPlus-Fix 将作为独立维护的社区项目继续开发，拥有自己的开发方向与发布计划，不再跟随上游项目的发展路线。

CNPCPlus-Fix 采用版本锁定策略。

项目固定所支持的 CustomNPCs 版本，不再自动跟随上游更新。

如果你在使用 CustomNPCs 或 CNPCPlus-Fix 时遇到问题，或者有希望改进的功能，欢迎提交反馈。

如果是 Bug，建议尽可能提供：

• Minecraft 版本。
• CustomNPCs 版本。
• CNPCPlus-Fix 版本。
• 崩溃报告或 latest.log。
• 问题复现步骤。
• 必要时提供截图或视频。

社区的实际需求与反馈将是项目后续开发的唯一依据。
