Changed Extra

Changed Extra (CE) is an expansion mod for Changed, focused on expanding its world, creatures, resources, and technology into more complete gameplay systems. Rather than simply adding more items or machines, CE explores a different question: What if the materials, creatures, and phenomena of Changed could be studied and developed into their own technology?

CE expands existing concepts from Changed while also introducing new systems built around them.

Technology

CE introduces its own technology system based on LP (Latex Power). Latex is no longer just something found in the environment. It can become a resource for power generation, processing, transportation, manufacturing, and research. Current technology includes power generators, energy/item/fluid pipes, pumps, electric processing machines, latex processing, alloy production, and other Changed-related machinery. As development continues, CE technology will increasingly focus on the unique properties of latex, transformation, crystals, biological materials, and other Changed phenomena instead of simply reproducing conventional technology.

Latex Space

CE greatly expands Latex Space into an explorable dimension with its own environments and ecological rules. Different regions behave differently:

• Dark latex regions are affected by dark latex rain.
• White latex regions are covered by dangerous white fog that can enter exposed spaces.
• Luminara regions are unaffected by these weather hazards and act as natural safe areas within the dimension. Weather can affect both players and latex creatures depending on their form and compatibility with the local environment. Latex Space is also an important source of latex and other resources, giving players a reason to explore the dimension despite its environmental dangers.

Changed Expansion

CE expands mechanics and content from Changed and compatible Changed addons instead of treating them only as dependencies. Existing materials, fluids, crystals, creatures, transformation mechanics, and other less-developed concepts may become parts of larger CE systems. Some features are also designed with compatibility and future integration in mind. Localization CE uses Mixins where necessary to improve or localize hard-coded content from Changed and supported addons. Translation fixes remain part of the project, but localization is no longer the primary purpose of Changed Extra.

Development

Changed Extra is under active development. Some systems may be redesigned as the mod grows, especially technology and Latex Space content. New versions may introduce new mechanics, compatibility features, balance changes, and fixes. Bug reports and suggestions are welcome on the project’s issue tracker.
