BTWR: Core

This is the foundational mod for the Better Than Wolves: Remastered! (BTWR) modpack.

It overhauls and expands core Minecraft systems in the spirit of the original Better Than Wolves, while adding new mechanics, items, and challenges for a deeper survival experience.

✨ Key Features and Additions:

🧱 Blocks & Items

• Blight: A block that wither skeleton entities spread when they hit grass blocks, it’s invasive if not dealt with quick enough.
• Block of Diamond Ingot: Crafted with the new Diamond Ingot item.
• Block of Flint: A way to store you flint more efficiently… or troll your friends 😉
• Block of Spider Eye & Slab: Another storage solution for Spider Eyes.
• Diamond Ingot: An item that can be used to craft diamond armor & tools more cheaply.
• Ender Spectacles – A new item which replaces carved pumpkins functionality for enderman ignoring being looked at and allows to see valid mob spawn positions when worn.
• Ocular of Ender – Required for crafting Ender Spectacles.

🧟 Mob Entity Mechanics

• BTW Mob Spawn Behavior: A fully data driven system for specifying where mobs can spawn. By default, mobs can spawn on any block(even slabs & stairs), besides all wooden blocks and a few other exceptions.
• Head drops: Players and certain mobs can now drop their head blocks when killed
• Knockback Rules: Only attacks with weapons/sprinting attacks (club, sword, bow, crossbow, trident) apply knockback by default.
• Baby Zombie Spawning Control: Option to disable baby zombies entirely.

🏹 General Entity Mechanics

• Hardcore Buoy: Changes vanilla bouyancy for items based on their buoyancy value. This makes certain items act differently when inside water.

🍲 Crafting

• Diamond Plate & Armor Recipes: Optional recipes for crafting diamond armor using Diamond Plates.
• Cut & Tanned Leather: Multiple leather types with corresponding recipes.

🛡️ Gameplay & Survival Tweaks

• Creeper Explosion Adjustments: Explosions now calculate from the creeper’s eyes, giving more predictable outcomes.
• Hardcore Player Names: Allows hiding of player name tags on SMP. Disabled by default

🌳 World & Environment Enhancements

• Hardcore Lightning: Lightning strikes have double the chance to occur during thunderstorms.
• Spawn Capacity Tweaks: Optional increase in monster spawn capacity per chunk.

• Configurable Options: You can tweak many features through the config/btwr/btwr_common.toml file.
