Veil of Corruption

The Broken Seal dropped by the Gaia Guardian II was not a trophy: it was a lock.

Behind it lies Darkana: mana that has been turned against itself. Veil of Corruption is an endgame addon for Botania that picks up where Gaia ends: a long, demanding progression through corrupted mana, corrupted flowers, new machines, two bosses, and gear made for the last hours of a playthrough.

It never replaces Botania: every device still runs on mana, pools, spreaders and flowers, and everything is documented in the Lexica Botania, in its own Veil of Corruption category.

• 🌀 Veil Rifts: the opening ritual tears a rift into the world. Around it, hostile creatures may be corrupted: tougher, stronger, wrapped in violet motes. Slain by a player, they drop Corrupted Mana Shards.
• 👁️ Veil Eye: your first tool to study corruption. Find the nearest rift, read the mana and Darkana of any device.
• 💜 Darkana: a second energy with its own spreaders, pools and vials, flowing alongside Botania’s mana.

• Wither Lotus: corrupts the generating flowers around it and turns a fraction of their mana into Darkana.
• Umbral Lily: feeds on darkness. The darker it stands, the more Darkana it makes.
• Veil Thistle: the Endoflame’s darker cousin, it devours corrupted matter lying nearby.
• Bloody Orchid: drinks the blood of creatures standing next to it and turns that life into mana. It can kill.
• Entropy Bloom: spends Darkana to hurry its neighbours: adjacent generating flowers work faster for a while.

• 🔮 Convergence Core: the heart of the addon. Place components on it, feed it mana and Darkana, and start the ritual with the Wand of the Forest: a ball of darkness rises, swells and falls to forge the result.
• ⚗️ Darkana Altar: upgrades the Veil weapons, level by level.
• 🛰️ Darkana Spreaders: Elven, Greater and Unleashed spreaders, the last one able to carry both mana and Darkana.
• 🛢️ Corrupted and Unleashed Pools: store Darkana; the Unleashed Pool can hold both.

Three weapons forged with the Rune of Ragnarök, upgraded at the Darkana Altar:

• ⚔️ Veilcleaver: a claymore. Right-click hurls a Shadow Orb that bursts into a corrupting field: everything inside takes more damage, bosses included.
• 🔱 Veilrender: a spear with extra reach. Hold right-click to charge an Entropic Sweep, a full circle whose blow grows with every foe caught.
• 🏹 Veil Piercer: the bow of the Veil. Hold to draw and loose arrows of light, each paid in mana or Darkana depending on its mode (switch with V). Darkana arrows pierce and corrupt.

Obscurancia, the ultimate armor, Its full set, Singularity, spends a fifth less mana and Darkana, makes a worn Flügel Tiara fly longer, slowly refills your mana and Darkana, and then have a chance to throws part of a blow back at its attacker.

Dark Terrasteel: Terrasteel taken by the Veil. Armor and tools that keep the Terra abilities and run on Darkana.

And more: four new runes (Death, Darkana, the Void, Ragnarök), the Tesseract, a relic that swaps your two energies, the Unleashed Band…

Does it replace Botania’s endgame?

No. It continues it: you need to fight Botania’s Gaia Guardian II to begin, and every machine still uses mana and a new type of mana.
