Blind Deaf Mute

A co-op roleplay mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). Give each player a role with a command. Every role comes with a handicap and a superpower, so your team has to communicate to survive.

Requires Simple Voice Chat. Install it on the server and on every client.

Roles

Blind

No HUD, hotbar, crosshair, chat or hand.
The world is black. Every sound sends out a sonar pulse that briefly outlines nearby blocks, items, animals, mobs and players.
Louder sounds make bigger pulses: explosions are large, block breaking and fighting medium, footsteps small. Pulses can see through walls, but only inside the pulse sphere.
Hears and speaks normally in voice chat.

Deaf

Hears nothing: game sounds, voice chat and chat messages are all blocked. Command feedback shows on the action bar.
Super vision: mobs and players glow through walls (default 64 blocks), plus a zoom key and permanent night vision.
Can talk, everyone can hear them.

Mute

Cannot speak: the microphone is blocked, and so are chat and /say /msg /tell /me /w.
Sixth sense: every few seconds, scans nearby ores and tells you the direction and height on the action bar, for example “Diamond ore nearby!”, “I sense gold ore to the North, below”. Never gives exact coordinates. Optional danger warning for creepers and lava.
Ping: press V to mark the spot you are looking at; everyone sees it.
Hears and sees everything.

Commands (OP level 2)

`/normal <player>`	Remove the role
`/role list`	Show who has which role
`/role random`	Hand out roles to all online players

Roles are saved on the server per player, so they stay after logging out, dying or restarting.

Controls

V – Ping (Mute)
Z – Zoom (Deaf)

Both can be changed in the controls menu.

Configuration

All values can be changed in the config files: echolocation lifetime, radius and outline color, a full black mode, ping radii per sound type, wallhack range, zoom, sixth sense interval and radius, the ore list, danger warning and ping cooldown.

Notes

Works on dedicated servers and in single player / LAN. Roles are controlled by the server, so clients cannot cheat.
Without Simple Voice Chat the mod will not load.
Languages: English and Turkish.
