BleedFX

A lightweight, purely‑visual bleeding‑effects mod for Minecraft 1.20.1, available for both Forge and Fabric.

Features

• Wound Bursts: Spawn particles at the exact hit location whenever an entity receives damage.
• Splatter Decals: Blood splatters stick onto floors, walls and ceilings. Decals automatically fade away after 60 seconds. They are also removed when the block breaks or washed away by water and rain.
• Continuous Bleeding Trail: Sustained bleeding after heavy hits. Drips fall for up to 2 minutes with three bleeding intensity tiers; regeneration effects will slow bleeding.
• Mob‑Specific Blood Colors: Slimes bleed green, Guardians bleed cyan, Elder Guardians bleed dark‑cyan, Sniffers bleed brown. All other living entities bleed red.
• Additional effects: Squelching hit sound, temporary red tint overlay on the player model when damaged.
• Use datapack tags to define non‑bleedable mobs.
• Server‑side configuration sync allows servers to enforce mod settings for connected clients.
• Multiple performance presets (performance, balanced, visual), hard decal limits to avoid frame‑rate drops.

Configuration

Adjust particle counts, splatter spawn chance, minimum damage threshold for bleeding, decal lifetime and more inside config/bleedfx.json.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.20.1
• Forge 47.2.0+ OR Fabric Loader 0.15.11+
• Fabric API 0.92.2+ (required only for Fabric version)

Notes

This mod adds no gameplay or combat changes, no extra damage. It works client‑only on vanilla multiplayer servers.
The visuals use stylized pixel‑art blood, it is not intended as heavy gore.
