BetterHitSounds

Overview

BetterHitSounds completely reworks Minecraft’s combat audio engine feedback. It is created for competitive play, and has specific cues (signals) to indicate certain actions in gameplay, letting players tell the pacing of their actions through audio without affecting performance.

Key Features

• State Tracking — Implements unique audio ranges for base shots, combo extensions and important hits.
• Hot-Reloadable — Imports .ogg assets at runtime to tweak values on the fly without needing to restart the game or session.
• No lag — Written on the Fabric API to occupy as little time as possible in the main loop while resolving active entity interactions.
• Lightweight — Does not require any configuration API infrastructure to be present in the project at all.

Installation Guide

1. Dependency Check: Confirm that your target run-time environment includes the appropriate iteration of the Fabric API
2. Deployment: Install the BetterHitSounds mod into your local mods directory.
3. Initialization: Launch your minecraft client and open the local configuration panel (through either modmenu or the keybind).
4. Ingestion Configuration: Choose to either use native engine presets or route path directories to your local .ogg audio files.
