BetterDualCombat is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge mod that adds highly configurable offhand combat mechanics.
Features:
Configure whether melee attacks ignore invulnerability frames (i-frames).
Configure holding the attack key to auto-click.
Right-click performs an offhand attack by default; the keybind can be changed.
Configure a weapon blacklist or whitelist (air means an empty hand).
Weapons tagged with #dual:allow or #dual:deny override the config to enable or disable offhand attacks.
Weapons tagged with #noframe:allow or #noframe:deny override the config to enable or disable ignoring invulnerability frames.
Weapons tagged with #onehand:true can only be used with one hand while held.
Recommended to use alongside Off Hander.
For modpack authors, Tag Editor is recommended for quickly adding tags to items.
