Better Revive X Holy Ritual [Hardcore Add-on]

Bring permanently dead players back to life through a powerful resurrection ritual.

Important: This add-on is made exclusively for Hardcore worlds. It only works with permanently dead players in Hardcore mode and does not work in normal Survival worlds.

Better Revive X Holy Ritual adds a new way to resurrect players after they have permanently died in a Hardcore world.

To bring someone back, you must draw a complete ritual cross with White Chalk, place a Holy Candle in the center and light it. You can then choose which permanently dead player you want to resurrect.

The ritual is intentionally expensive and takes time to complete. It is meant to give Hardcore servers a difficult way to recover a lost player without making permanent death meaningless.

How the Ritual Works

Draw a hollow cross on the ground using 18 pieces of White Chalk:

The pattern is five blocks wide, six blocks long and can face any direction.

Place the Holy Candle in the free center block and light it with Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge. If the cross is complete and the current time is allowed, a menu opens.

The menu shows players who have permanently died in the Hardcore world. Select the player you want to bring back to begin the ritual.

Smoke rises from the chalk while a 13-second chant plays around the ritual site. At the end, lightning strikes the candle and the selected player returns inside a large cloud of smoke.

The lightning is only a visual effect and does not harm nearby players.

Resurrection

The resurrected player appears directly at the ritual site without their previous equipment.

Their old grave is not opened, removed or changed by this add-on. It continues to follow the normal Better Revive grave rules.

Offline players can also be selected. Their resurrection is saved, and they will appear at the ritual site the next time they join the server.

After a successful resurrection, the Holy Candle and all 18 chalk marks are consumed.

If the resurrection cannot be completed, the chalk pattern is restored and the candle is extinguished.

Ritual Times

By default, resurrection rituals can only be performed during:

• Night
• Midnight

Server owners can configure the allowed times in:

config/better_revive_x_holy_ritual.json

Available time periods include:

• Sunrise
• Day
• Noon and afternoon
• Sunset
• Night
• Midnight
• All times

If the allowed time ends while a ritual is still running, the ritual is interrupted and the candle goes out.

White Chalk

White Chalk is used to draw the ritual cross.

One crafting recipe creates exactly 18 pieces, enough for one complete ritual.

Skeletons also have a 5% chance to drop one piece of White Chalk.

Holy Candle

The Holy Candle forms the center of the ritual.

Holy Candles can also rarely be found in structure chests:

• Woodland Mansion: 2% chance
• Ancient City: 1% chance
