Better Combat Plus

Roll during attacks, keep your offhand while two-handing, raise your shield in the recovery window.

An unofficial addon for Better Combat and
Combat Roll that fixes three feel issues when both are installed.
Not affiliated with, or endorsed by, their authors.

🗡️ What it fixes

Symptom	With Better Combat Plus
Rolling does nothing during an attack	Roll any time — the swing in progress is voided but still costs one weapon cooldown
Two-handed weapons hide the offhand	Shield and offhand item stay visible and usable
No shield during the attack recovery	Right-click raises the shield in the recovery window; the windup still belongs to the attack

⚙️ Configuration

Three switches (all on by default) under Mods → Better Combat Plus → Config. Install on both client and server. Combat Roll is optional — without it only the roll fix is disabled.

A shield is recognised by the SHIELD_BLOCK ability, ShieldItem, or the loader’s shield tag, so modded shields work out of the box.

Which versions? Forge 1.20.1 needs Better Combat [1.9.0,1.10); NeoForge 1.21.1 needs Better Combat [2.4.0,2.5). Cloth Config is required on both; see the Relations tab.
