Bendy and the Ink Machine: Ink Realm

**A story-driven horror mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1**
_”Dreams come true.”_

What is this mod?

A world that slowly turns against you. Play normally… until the old animation studio notices you. Familiar faces from the ink machine pay you a visit, and one of them takes you somewhere you don’t want to be.

This mod is a scripted horror experience that plays out once per world, from the moment you first join, through a chain of encounters in a dark, sepia ink realm, and back again. After that, your world is never quite safe.

Spoilers: the story

Each button hides one part of the experience, in order. Open them only if you are stuck or have finished.

1. The first night

On your very first join, an old VHS tape plays full screen. About a minute later, Boris appears right in front of you. He talks to you, does a little dance and disappears in a puff of ink.

2. Day two

Early on the second day, the Ink Demon appears about 15 blocks away. Your camera is locked on him while he charges straight at you, and when he reaches you, everyone online is dragged into his maze.

3. The maze

A 100 x 100 lightless maze, different in every world. You can only see a few blocks around you. The Ink Demon wanders the corridors, and if he sees you within 15 blocks he chases you to his music, faster than you can sprint. He hits hard. If he catches you, you get a jumpscare, lose all your items (even with keepInventory), and wake up where you were taken.

There is a way out: a door-shaped ink stain on an outer wall with “THE ESCAPE” written above it. Walk into it to leave with everything you carry.

4. The puzzle room

Alice Angel flashes before you, and you wake up locked in a room facing a wall full of writing. Six valves, each marked with a shape. The wall gives you an easy equation for each shape, and the answer is that valve’s turn number. Turn them in order to drain the ink in front of the door, then set the levers to the code that appears (read it carefully).

You have one minute. Run out of time and things start to burn. The third time… the ceiling isn’t made of ink anymore.

5. The long halls

The door grinds shut behind you. Long, pitch-black halls with 50 numbered rooms, each behind a wooden door. Alice Angel hunts you here. If she faces you, she runs, and she screams. Hide in a room and she waits at the door.

Somewhere in the chests and barrels are three ink levers. Put them on the panel next to the big studio door and pull them all.

6. The way out

Behind the vault door is a small room with a pool of deep ink and the words “JUMP IN THE INK”. Trust it. You sink… and wake up back home with everything.

7. After it’s over

Once you escape, the Ink Demon and Alice can appear in your world at random, at most once per Minecraft day each, watching you from a distance. Look at them or get close and they either vanish or come for the nearest player. They climb walls and break through blocks in their way, but they won’t follow you into water. If the Ink Demon catches you out here, you die for real.

Multiplayer

Works in single player, LAN and on dedicated servers. There is no fixed player limit: the maze is shared, and every player gets their own puzzle room and halls. A small group of about 2 to 10 players gives the best experience.

Tips

Play with sound on. Headphones recommended.
Bring things you don’t mind losing.
Server owners can tune everything in serverconfig/bendyink-server.toml.
Operators can open the F6 debug menu to replay any part (cheats required).
