Aspect Refraction

🌟 Overview

Refraction adds a single block – the Refraction Table – that lets you break any item down into its hidden Aspects and then craft known items back from pure knowledge

📖 How it works?

• Place the Refraction Table and open it.
• Insert any item into the deconstruction slot.
• Gain Aspects based on the item’s hidden composition.
• Unlock the item in your knowledge list.
• Select a known item and craft it using Aspects + Amethyst Shards.

🧪 Aspects

Aspects are the fundamental building blocks of matter in Refraction. There are 32 base Aspects, such as:

Ignis — Fire
Aqua — Water
Terra — Earth
Aer — Air
Arbor — Wood
Metallum — Metal
Vitreus — Crystal
Praecantatio — Magic
…and 24 more!

🛠️ For Modpack Makers

All item aspects are defined in data/refraction/data_maps/item/aspects.json.
You can override any item’s aspects using a datapack or addon mod.

🧩 For Addon Developers

Refraction uses NeoForge’s Data Maps system. Addons can:

• Add new Aspects to items.
• Define custom Aspect compositions.
• Use the public API to interact with Aspect knowledge.
